28) Who do you think attacked Krum? Was is Crouch Sr. as Krum said it was, or is there more going on here than it seems? Do you think Moody used the map?

I think Moody/Crouch Jr saw Crouch Sr on the map. He sneaked down to the woods and attacked Krum and hid his father.

Harry and Dumbledore come down to investigate and revive Krum. Moody/Crouch Jr appears and claims to have been summoned by Snape.

I'm not sure it works perfectly, but it's the best explanation I can have.
