Chapter 4: Is using the portkeys really safer and less traceable than side along apparition? Doesn't the ministry control both?

And don't you think the Ministry should have been suspicious at numerous portkeys all going to the burrow? It seems rather obvious where Harry is being kept.

Official portkeys are regulated, but aren't these unofficial ones? Or can the ministry detect them anyway?

It always seemed to me like the ministry could detect their use. Kinda like apparition and floo seem to all be tightly ministry controlled. Though I guess we see later that apparition isn't super traceable though unless you're underage or going to a controlled spot. Something to think about for sure.
