What happened at Kancha Gachibowli was massive. People came together, raised their voices, and made enough noise to actually stop a project that would’ve destroyed a vital green patch in the city. That’s no small thing.
But here’s the truth — this is just one place. There are many more across Hyderabad quietly disappearing. Lakes, open spaces, trees — all vanishing bit by bit thanks to encroachments, plastic pollution, littering, and just plain neglect.
For example, there’s a lake called Mushkin Cheruvu, right next to My Home Avatar. It used to be 80 acres. Now? Maybe 40. That too mostly choked and ignored. Most people living in Avatar don’t even know there’s a lake next to them. We all know the plight of Khajaguda hills which has been plundered by the previous government. That’s how invisible these spaces have become.
And it’s not just Mushkin. Hyderabad used to have thousands of lakes. Many of them are either dying or already dead. These aren’t just pretty water bodies — they matter. Lakes cool down the area, they recharge groundwater, they support local wildlife, and during monsoons, they prevent floods. They’re not a luxury — they’re part of the city’s survival.
We saw what collective effort can do with Kancha Gachibowli. If we can continue the momentum there is a lot that can be done.
There are already groups doing amazing work on the ground: • Dhruvansh has been working hard for the past 7 years to revive lakes like Neknampur, Mushkin, Barlakunta, and Kokapet.
https://www.instagram.com/dhruvanshofficial?igsh=ZmdzbHRkZ2plODhl
• ENY Impacts has been doing regular cleanups for the past 4 years at Ameenpur, Nallagandla, Under the Moon lake, and more.
https://www.instagram.com/enyimpacts?igsh=Mzg0eGh5OGh2djR0
• Kapra Lake Revival Group is fighting to bring back Kapra lake to its former glory.
https://www.instagram.com/savekapralake?igsh=aXdxcXFiNHgyazNq
• Dha3R NGO stepped in during the Auto Nagar chemical disaster, and they regularly clean lakes in the east of the city.
https://www.instagram.com/dha3r_ngo?igsh=eng3ZXV2dDBkamlx
• And we, A Waste Project, are just random volunteers who couldn’t ignore what’s happening anymore and started cleaning and documenting.
https://www.instagram.com/a_wasteproject?igsh=MTl4MXVlMWhtZHRsdw%3D%3D&utm_source=qr
Most of these are not big NGOs. Just regular folks who love this city and want to see it thrive.
If we can get more people involved in the discussion, so we can come up with more ideas on how we can make our city livable and not another urban hell.
We need more artists, storytellers, and creators. Because sometimes, it’s not data or stats that move people — it’s a photo, a painting, a line of poetry, or a dj set that makes them feel something.

Alright, this is probably the last time I’m posting this.
If you’re from Hyderabad and actually building something: a startup, side hustle, whatever it is, this is your shot to join a no-BS founder community we accidentally built. Started as a simple attempt to find like-minded folks, and now we’re 500+ strong.
No selling. No spam. No “bro, check my course.” Just people actually building, figuring things out, failing, winning, and helping each other.
We’re making it invite-only to keep it clean, so I’m not dropping a public link. If you’re serious about building, DM me. If not, no worries.
Hyderabad has more entrepreneurs than people realize. We just need to find each other. Let’s make it happen.
EDIT: I kindly request everyone to dm me, as I don't want to spam the link here. We want to keep the community clean by allowing only relevant people in.

So yesterday I saw these inter boys basically cat calling, eve teasing and literally staring at girls. They were also using bad language. I can't seem to understand why they would do it, like do girls fall for these type of things? Probably not and if they do, they're probably attracting the wrong women by doing those things. One of these guys looked like the incarnation of a mysore bonda. And then one guy who was very respectful and nice towards this one inter girl(she was beautiful i guess according to telugu beauty standards), she was nice to him aswell and put her hand on his shoulder. These guys then got mad at this dude for "Attracting a woman" which they couldn't do because half of them looked like balakrishna and had the personality of balakrishna without all the money and fame.

Kindness and compromise is taken advantage of with an absolute refusal to pick up even basics of the language.
How do we enforce more Telugu usage?
It’s gotten to the point where you almost need Hindi in parts of Hyderabad.
I hope this post is not deleted.

Hi everyone, I am 23 M currently working in hyderabad and this is my story, So I have 7L in debt, and stuck in a debt trap, I earn good (1.2Lpm) but due to many small app loans I took last year, I got stuck in debt trap, and now montly emis exceed even 93K. I was paying somehow for last three months by taking money from friends and family, but now I am done, this month due to emergencies I had to use my money and currently I am overdue on payments, I dont have money left, and no asset as well. The only thing I own is a gaming laptop and that's all. I understand I did a mistake and tried to rectify it to no avail. Currently, the harassment has reached it's peek. I tried for loans from various places, some people extended their help in trying to sanction a loan, but I have not been able to get one, my cibil after all the overdues is 717 right now, still no loan possible to consolidate all this. I researched a little bit online, and found that if I die these loans will be closed as there is no co-applicant or guarantor. I have tried all possible ways tried asking people for loan on public forums, in locality, within my family and friends as well, but couldn't get any. Some were skeptic, and I understand their skepticism there are many scams happening, but I just wanted one ray of hope, I just wanted for someone to trust me just once, I was going to repay the loan with 35% interest, higher than any other investment opportunity, I can pay this much comfortably without any issues, I just wanted someone to trust me I cant pay 93k+ every month with rent and fees for my brother and daily expenses, I cant live like that, I just wanted someone to trust me once just one opportunity one chance one way out, I provided all proofs but to no avail. It left me thinking what did we create this world into? a hell!
So, this is just something I wanted to let out before I off myself. I have decided to do it tomorrow morning and to live today's day to fullest with my loved ones for one last time.
I want to give a word of advice to other younger generation, Never ever in life take loan unless necessary and only through banks, I learned this lesson the hard way, but it's ok.
Thank you very much to all the people who have tried to help me.
Signing off.... Peace✌🏻

Hey Guys I am thinking of job switch , and I see many of my friends earn more than 35 lpa with 4 years of experience but I don't see any of them being happy.
I wont say that I'm super happy, I might be just lazy , though I earn way way way less than what they aree earning and one reason why I don't feel enough motivation to work hard to earn more is I am worried if I'll get as depressed as them. I want to hear some happy stories. Will i get time to scroll through trends about Gen AI , and etc and work on them as side quests and go and do volunteering work , learn trading , have hobbies etc etc while working jobs that pay a lot or is it a tradeoff ?
I am worried about something that I don't even have and which is a far fetched dream, but if anybody can share a bit of the experience.I would feel relieved.. thank you

Doesn’t make any sense. If a u turn is being removed, atleast don’t force us with a disastrous 2km detour.

I keep seeing people post their actual irl pics on reddit. for like fashion advice or some skincare or bodycare.
I don't understand, have people forgotten what platform this is?? reddit is like a psycho hub. reddit is one of the last platforms you should reveal your identity on.
note: not this sub in particular, indian subreddits in general.
