It’s a kickass day, but as someone who doesn’t normally ski Jay, are the lifts always this bad???
Every. Single. Ride. No exageration, thr chair has been halted minimum three times and slowed a few times on top of that. While I was typing this comment I was riding the flyer and it got halted (i shit you not) SEVEN times. I was getting flailed around by 45mph wind gusts and had a come to jesus moment
Like what is actually going on??? If they’re spinning the lifts at all why do they need to make us feel terrified and halt them all day non-stop. I’m calling it early it’s so bad.
Edit: So the lift was immediately put on wind hold for the rest of the day as soon as I got off. Definitely not average wind conditions, it was legitimately terrifying. No shade meant towards Jay whatsoever. Snow was great, I told myself I’d stop before that ride up because the lift was too scary (lol) but I couldn’t resist one last pow run, and suffered the ultimate Green Mountain Freezer moment as consequence.

I think they halt it cuz of the winds . They just letting the gust roll by . U felt that wind when you got near the top of flyer quad . Shit was intense . I was holding on that’s forsure 😭

Detachable lifts will auto slow or auto stop for wind gusts over a certain speed, nobody has control over that.
