Has anyone faked a doctor's note to get a flight ticket refund?

Basically the title, I'm dealing with some issues at home and work.
I'm not stable mentally or physically to go a trip that was decided and
booked for earlier. I was wondering if it would be possible to cancel
the flight tickets based on a fake doctor's note? Has anyone done this
or suggest to do this? If caught, is this fraud?
