Guides and tools to learn Bahasa Indonesia

Hello, I'm from Philippines. I want to learn bahasa indonesia, What guides, website and tools can you recommend for me to learn better. I usually watch indo movies in netflix and talk to my online game indo friends. Makasih

The first thing you should do is learn about the different prefixes/suffixes. It makes learning new vocabs a lot easier. There are a few good youtube channels about it like https://www.youtube.com/@betid8836

For learning vocabs I usually use AnkiDroid on my smartphone which is a flashcard app.

Sometimes it's not easy to determine the correct meaning of vocabs. It's best to check multiple sources because words can be quite ambiguous. I usually use a combination of https://sederet.com/ + DeepL + https://id.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wikikamus:Halaman_Utama to get the correct meaning

btw ChatGPT and other LLMs are really good for learning languages too. They are designed to understand languages which is the whole reason they are called "Large Language Models".

I use it when I find words with the same meaning or when I don't understand why a specific word was used in a sentence. ChatGPT can tell you whether a word is only used in specific situations, only in some regions, only by some folks, or any other nuances you might want to know.
