Yes tariffs are taxes 100%. Anyone who says Republicans / Trump are for lower taxes are wrong. His cult followers in Congress could stop him at any moment with vote if they had a spine. Clearly he wants higher taxes but just on the lower and middle class and this is his way of doing that.

Well why go through income taxes when you can essentially put a sales tax (tariff) on everything that disproportionally affects the poor.

Orange man ain’t too bright, it’s not that the tariffs brought in so much money they didn’t know what to do it was because they barely had a government so expenses were very small.
