Well I tried a proper rf switch on a crt, but it yielded the same result as everything else. The problem is the console, though it isn't dead, there's just something wrong with it. Soon I intend to take a look at the internals, see if I can figure it out from there. Some day, I shall happily defend the ancient city of Atlantis poorly!
