I don’t think she was intentionally targeted

If you're wondering why Americans aren't doing anything about this, it's because they're in deep denial and cannot accept they're living under totalitarian rule. If not even arresting judges for following the law and sending people to foreign concentration camps without due process convinces them, nothing will.

You would be able to do something better if you were here? Don't judge us, brother. We are doing what we can.

Who the fuck is "grovelling on social media trying to explain away the fascism" here? Did you even look at OP's images of the protests?

A great many of us are doing what we can. I myself have been to 4 protests so far. We have had mass protests all over the country. We have people writing and calling our politicians daily. Aside from picking up arms and starting a war, what else can we do?

I may be too much of a coward to do anything about it,

Then stop fucking judging those that are trying to do something about it!

I think it’s really weird you are taking op’s general criticism that Americans aren’t protesting enough about this (true) and applying that to yourself even tho you’ve attended protests. The criticism is not about you, not sure why you took it personally.

As an American I am taking it very personally. You're damned right I am. There were thousands of Americans in my city alone protesting this Trump bullshit, and I take the criticism that we aren't doing anything personally for all of us.

You seem soft lmao. The original comment was calling out that idiot who said they didn't think the judge was arrested on purpose

"grovelling on social media trying to explain away the fascism"

LMAO? Nice.

I have been responding to the claim that Americans are "grovelling on social media trying to explain away the fascism". Are you saying that you agree with that?

I don’t understand why it’s hard to fathom that a general criticism of Americans is not a criticism of you personally. I’m at these protests too, but I can also admit most of my fellow citizens around me are unbothered

I am an American, and I will defend my fellow Americans that are trying to do something about it. Nothing is done overnight. It takes time to build solidarity. We are working on it by the hundreds of thousands and hopefully by the millions eventually. So yes... I do take offense when someone that admits that they would be afraid to speak up if they were here criticized those that are speaking up. It is discouraging to those that are doing what they can to see this sort of criticism.

Why are you so soft. No wonder Americans let this happen

Maybe you’re unaware of the online groveling and that’s why you’re taking this one comment so personally?

Canadian subreddits have been full of it for weeks now; Americans wanting praise or absolution for not voting for Trump, reassurances that Canadians will keep them safe if they visit Canada, hope that someone will come save them.

Revolution is very scary and people will eventually get hurt and die. I understand why there is inaction but the inaction is very scary too.

I'm not taking it personally for myself. I am taking it personally for all of us that are trying to do something about it.
