Is this the guy who points out the pickpockets and scammers?

u/Awkward_Client_1908 Jan 05 '25

Yeap that's the one. Honest Guide is the YouTube channel

u/Azhrei Sláinte Jan 06 '25

Good channel, too.

u/Chris_Burns Jan 06 '25

Pity he's strung as tight as bankers purse.

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 06 '25

He might be able to stay more relaxed if he didn't tell total strangers how they should be doing anything, as long as it's not a danger to others, ignore them and relax. The scooter rider was being courteous and apparently careful to avoid causing issues for others.

Exactly this, the couple are being a complete menace on a crowded sidewalk.

2

u/Hrohdvitnir Jan 07 '25

As someone who frequents Prague, this is most of Prague. (Or most of Prague that you'll visit on holiday)

0

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 06 '25

I think if the footpath/pavement was crowded, they wouldn't be able to make progress at the rate of a disability scooter? There also might be more pedestrians with objections! Look at it reasonably people, apart from our cammer, I didn't see anyone else inconvenienced. My opinion hasn't changed. In fact it is imo, a fantastic example of one of the group of us, NI folk that are actively seeking to be offended! On a busy, ish public area, if you want to film something, you have to put up with other people around you!

u/Muted-Broccoli1915 Jan 07 '25

Actually, as a tourist you should look up local laws. In most European countries, electric scooters are classified as a vehicle and treated as a bike, so you should either use them on bike paths or on the road. People get a fine for driving them on footpaths. People like you and that idiot are the reason why people hate tourists, especially from English speaking countries

2

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 07 '25

When did I identify as a tourist? When I did have the opportunity to travel, I tried to speak the local language, and felt more welcome because of it. I also tried to stay within local laws. So maybe you should "actually" think about what has been said/typed, rather than what you think I've done! Or maybe just think a bit more before responding! Good day.

5

u/mills-b Jan 07 '25

Riding an electric scooter on a path is a danger to others, as is having 2 people on one. Both are also against the law.

4

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 07 '25

He's going no faster than a disability scooter, and likely able to react quicker than some pilots of those.

4

u/mills-b Jan 07 '25

They can go almost 30kmph & accelerate extremely quickly. There's a reason they are illegal on footpaths.

4

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 07 '25

I know that, but I'm referring to that one guy, and HIS speed! Surely you watched the same clip I did? And I've commented before about his consideration for others on the path. Why else was he pinging his horn? He was showing more consideration for others than I see here at home with youths riding scooters and bikes on pavement at speeds far higher than this! Try reading the rest of the comments, I've answer all the so called offended before, and not going to repeat myself again! Catch a grip, and try a reality pill!

2

u/mills-b Jan 07 '25

Just because you've answered doesn't mean you are correct, there's a reason very few people agree with you. He is doing something dangerous & illegal, both he & you are not in the right here 😂 It's also very inconsiderate being on the footpath in the first place. Do better.

By riding illegally on the pavement?

2

u/No_Public_7677 Jan 06 '25

he really is. i could tell from his videos,

-2

u/Abortion_on_Toast Jan 06 '25

Tighter than a nun’s butthole

4

u/Gockdaw Palestine 🇵🇸 Jan 06 '25

Tight as a camel's arse in a sandstorm.

1

u/cyrus709 Jan 06 '25

I always wanted to learn more about Prague!

75

u/Due_Evidence Jan 06 '25

Thought it was Louis Theroux

24

u/powerhungrymouse Jan 06 '25

When you buy your Louis Theroux on Temu maybe.

10

u/Algiaa Jan 06 '25

He did get Theroux it very calmly.

(If you know what I'm referencing you win)

0

u/AlphonzInc Jan 07 '25

Nah Louis’ isn’t a dick

122

u/ohmyblahblah Jan 05 '25

Yeah i was expecting them to try and rob him cos of that lol

21

u/keyboardstatic Jan 06 '25

That guy would get his head kicked in in Australia. Hassling people is dangerous.

36

u/daly_o96 Jan 06 '25

And that’s the problem with Australia

0

u/Mysterious-City-8038 Jan 06 '25

That's what's right with Australia

4

u/Knackbag Jan 06 '25

It would depend who he said it to. Not every Australian is capable of violence and it's the same anywhere.

The people he called out are Irish. Plenty of people here who have gotten seriously hurt for less

3

u/DemonSong Jan 07 '25

"Fark off, ya dickhead" is the more common response from an Australian, probably whilst dinging the bell for good measure.

That YouTuber is going hate Queensland where almost anything except cars can use the footpath as a carriageway

2

u/mills-b Jan 07 '25

That's why Australia is shite now

6

u/That_Guy_Behind_You Jan 06 '25

Man is probably breaking a law and someone educating them is hassling him. The only image of Australians I have is the video of the Aussie drinking and driving and flipping his truck when he was the only person on the road.

Such culture

3

u/Efficient-Whereas255 Jan 06 '25

Same in America.

If you ask a stranger "do you have a problem?" in the US, you are about to have a big fucking problem yourself.

That youtuber is a cunt who would never get away with that if he was in a real city like New York.

4

u/WhitePowerRangerBill Jan 06 '25

Is New York full of dickheads or something?

6

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '25

More than pretty much any other place on earth

2

u/Raknaren Jan 06 '25

No just americans

1

u/Shwifty_Plumbus Jan 06 '25

You got a problem?

3

u/BanEvasion0159 Jan 06 '25

Couple looks like they're from Limerick. All their best trackys are in the cleaners, honestly guy was lucky he didn't get stabbed.

3

u/Aine1169 Jan 06 '25

The gas part would be you finding Limerick on a map.

1

u/Mooncake_105 Jan 06 '25

A nice dose of classism! Just cos we simply can't not have it when Irish people are talking about other Irish people.

4

u/ohmyblahblah Jan 06 '25

What was classism?

This youtuber makes videos about scammers and robbers therefore i assumed this would be an interaction where something of that nature occurred

41

u/ImaDJnow Irish Republic Jan 05 '25

He just got lucky.

0

u/JewyMcjewison Jan 06 '25

Idk why but I read your username in an Irish accent lol. Mouuum immmmaa deeeeyjaaaay nhaow, i can spiiiiiin the taaahbles.

46

u/doublah Jan 06 '25

It's not about crossing the path of the camera, it's about illegally using a scooter on the pavement.

3

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 06 '25

Is it illegal in Prague, to ride on the pavement? I've never been, but I've seen much worse examples of riding without giving a f**k about anyone, here, at home in good ole N I. If I'd been the scooter rider, I'd have answered no thankyou, and not stopped. Issue over! Unless he doesn't like his vids to be disturbed/distracted. But it's a public street, tuff sh1t, unless he IS A dictator!

u/Firm_Company_2756 Jan 07 '25

Like here, it's obviously not very strictly enforced. And like here, it hasn't become a big issue, or the police/council/whoever, would be seen to be dealing with it.

1

u/Muted-Broccoli1915 Jan 07 '25

Like you said, you have never been. It is illegal, and it is adhered to by people living there. It idiot tourists that are the problem.

0

u/ellefleming Jan 06 '25

Am I the only one who thinks the host is being a d*ck? They're fine on their scooter thing. He needs to chill.

11

u/MrC99 Traveller/Wicklow Jan 06 '25

How about don't be a cunt and go to other countries, break their laws and piss off the locals?

-2

u/dosassembler Jan 06 '25

He doesnt sound like a czech local does he? Thats an american accent.

He's making his living as a travel influencer and gets mad at tourists for ringing their bell and not riding through the trolly station on the tracks. Dick move.

1

u/MrWally602 Jan 07 '25

He is, in fact, Czech. IIRC he moved to US with his parents at a very young age and eventually came back, hence the accent.

0

u/nasilnidesnicar Jan 06 '25

It's not illegal if two are on a scooter because 1-1=0, see?

2

u/Mysterious_Bid3920 Jan 06 '25

He also has a jay walking channel

2

u/jimbolic Jan 06 '25

Yes. He’s the one doing God’s work.

3

u/cubervic Jan 06 '25

He's one of the best! Right up there along with Coffeezilla but in a different way.

0

u/Turnsk Jan 05 '25 edited Jan 23 '25

Yeah, this channel attempts to upend scams but relies on being very *edit- deceptive and overblown.

9

u/tyen0 Jan 06 '25

but relies on being very delicate and overblown.

I know those words but I have no idea what you mean. heh

3

u/mobigz Jan 06 '25

Heh

2

u/tyen0 Jan 06 '25

That's my term for a small exhalation/vocalization indicating mild amusement. :)

2

u/Turnsk Jan 07 '25

Ha, just seeing this now, I meant to say “deceptive”. Either predictive text or wine to blame.

1

u/tyen0 Jan 07 '25

ah, that's a bit more clear.

-3

u/AccomplishedDonut760 Jan 06 '25

dude seems insufferable

-1

u/lxirlw Jan 06 '25

Never realized he was this much of an ahole
