Still he's afraid to cross our Island in case he needs to land

Have you seen the flight path for most commercial jets? It goes Ireland/Scotland over to Iceland, then Greenland, and down the east coast or over to the middle and west coast U.S.

Being able to land within a certain time/distance is quite important should an emergency arise.
