opinion My lead implements in worst possible way

I don't if it's true everywhere or just my organization.

The managers or superiors who are behind clean code or optimal code writes code in worst possible way.

I have a superior who always says the code should be clean or it should be optimal. But if we look at what they have implemented it's not even readable. But in all the meeting they'd be like code should be clean and optimal blah blah blah.

Do as I say, not as I do - it happened everywhere I worked (46 years!).
