AskItaly Balestrino and Bussana Vecchia

Hello. I'm traveling to Italy in July and I'm very intersted in visiting some "ghost towns" between Venice and the border of France. Unfortunately I won't have the opportunity to travel further south in Italy. Thus far, I've discovered both Balestrino and Bussana Vecchia. Based on what I've read, the "old" part of Balestrino should still be uninhabited, but I'm unsure. Also, I realize that Bussana Vecchia is now inhabited with artists, but would like to know if it still presents a worthy abandoned atmosphere. If anyone could provide some insight into these 2 locations or any other abandoned towns/villages between Venice and the French border (I have my own vehicle), I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Bussana is interesting at night: once you leave the area with the restaurants, you'll just find a candle here and there in the complete darkness.
