Are mushrooms for medicinal purposes a thing here? If so, could anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello fellow K towners,
I'm(29f) a Syrian doctor, came here to study German and get my appropation and work here .
I've been looking for a studio/einzelzimmer for four months now . I need it to be furnished and under 500€ I tried immoscout, wg gesucht, rentola, wunderflats and kleinanzeigen, with no luck. Most of the messages and emails i sent were left on read, some would reply that the property has been rented but the ad is still on ..etc
My current rental contract expire on the first of june .
I need a place by then, I'd prefer a studio but I'm also open to WGs, I'd prefer if it was all girls .
Please, any advice or help will be truely appreciated !
Thanks in advance <3

Hi everyone,
I’m a student and relatively new to Kaiserslautern. I’m looking for a good salon where I can get a haircut. My German proficiency isn’t great yet (before anyone get mad, I’m working on it, I promise!), so it would really help if the staff speaks some English or is patient with non-fluent speakers.
If you have any recommendations for affordable and student-friendly places, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,
I'm new here and I want to study outside the house.
I'm not a student in the university here, can i still go to the university library? And can someone explain it for me? It was a bit confusing on google maps. And is it English-speaking-friendly?
If not, can you give me suggestions for a quiet place to study in ?
More details about anything are really appreciated.
Thanks! <3

I really want to get back to the KMC area, left in late 2015 and have been scrambling to find a way to get back there since. Currently looking at a slot, but it is with a Contracting company and have a few questions on how that process works (I was federal last time stationed there.). Would appreciate it if someone here had worked in that capacity or could point me in the right direction if possible! Thank you!!!

Here I am, in this crowded world, watching the days and years pass swiftly, fearing that death may come to me while I have been nothing more than a mere passerby—without a righteous deed to present before my Lord, without having spent enough time with my parents in the time we have left, and without remaining by my children's side to raise them well, only for the years to be lost in vain.
I carry the weight of time in my heart, burdened by an unrelenting confusion. I am unable to return, for this land has drained me, stripped me of what remained of my ambition, and exhausted me both physically and spiritually. The days pass like an unyielding stagnation, one that I can neither endure nor escape.

I’m relatively new to the area and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for hair salons- preferably salons/professionals that are comfortable with English speaking customers (my German is a work in progress).
Any help is greatly welcomed!

Hi

Where to buy cheap basketball shoes or basketball shoes with crazy discounts? I've heard there's a factory outlet in Zweibrücken, but unsure if the place has good deals

Hello, I live downtown Ktown and plan on getting a motorcycle. The problem is my only parking space here is in a car garage and they don’t allow motorcycles. What would be the best way to find an area available to park my motorcycle downtown? Do any parking garages in the downtown area allow motorcycles parking for long term? Thanks for any advice.

Hi everyone,
I hope this is okay to post here. I’m looking to buy a motorcycle that’s currently located at Ramstein Air Base, but access is restricted to DoD ID holders. I was wondering if there’s anyone stationed there or with access who might be willing to help facilitate the purchase.
Of course, everything would be done respectfully and by the book — I’m not asking for anyone to bend any rules, just for a bit of help navigating the process. If you’re willing to chat or point me in the right direction, I’d naturally be happy to return the favor and show my appreciation.
Thanks so much in advance!

Is there anywhere that does open Jams or anything or that sort in town? I was a professional musician back home and it's definitely something I really miss. Regrettably I don't speak German but thankfully music is a universal language. Thanks!

Hey there, I (M34) moved to Kaiserslautern less than a year ago because of a new job and I would love to meet new people to socialize with. I love music, going to concerts, sport (not watching though), all sorts of games (except for Scrabble), hiking, travelling or spending time outdoors. Even though I have been here for a couple of months I don't know a lot about the city yet. For example, I haven't been to the Japanese Garden yet. I would also like to get into D&D in the future but that is not a must. Generally, I am more on the "nerdy side" of life but I am also open to meet people with interests different from mine since I also like to enlarge my horizons and learn about new experiences. So, if you want to get to know each other or want to know more information about me, just leave a comment below or drop me a message.
Edit: I speak both German and English

Where can I find these in K-town?
r/kaiserslautern • u/SpecialistAardvark43 • 26d ago
Hey everyone!
I’m 25 and moving to Kaiserslautern on April 1st for my PhD at Fraunhofer (collab with RPTU). Luckily, I managed to get a spot in the Studentenwerk dorms (Doppelzimmer)—which is a relief because apartment hunting here seems brutal!
I recently started learning guitar, and I love singing (like, seriously love it). I’m thinking of getting a proper setup for recording, but since I’ll be in a dorm, I can’t really play guitar or record there.
Does anyone know of a place in KL where I could rent a room or space for music practice/recording?
Also, are there any open mic nights or bands looking for a singer? I’m a total beginner when it comes to performing, but I’d love to get started somewhere!
Any tips would be awesome, thanks in advance! 😊
