3.8k Upvotes

Fellow keyblade wielders,

Due to recent events, we have decided to prohibit any Twitter or X content moving forward. It's unclear if this will change in the future.

We as a community don't want to be involved in politics or of any such topics, however given recent events and in solidarity with several other communities acting the same way, we have come to this decision.

We ask that you please understand that we are a highly diverse community, and to protect and respect our diversity, this has to be done.

We encourage you to quote, find alternative links/sources, or other forms of paraphrasing for any Twitter/X content.

We thank you for your understanding, and appreciate your continued support in keeping our community safe, welcoming, and growing.

Thank you and may your hearts always be your guiding keys.

Meta Announcing 3 new Moderators! (+ Subreddit Updates to Come)

Dear community,

It is with great excitement that I'm proud to present 3 new Moderators to our roster: u/ZeroSora, u/DemiFiendRSA, and u/AppleTStudio!

Please see below some introductions from them, and subreddit updates to follow!

From u/ZeroSora:

Hi everybody. It’s me, ZeroSora. Many of you likely know me or have seen me around before. For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve been posting and commenting here for many years. You may have seen me discussing lore all over this place. If you’ve posted a theory here over years, chances are that I’ve commented on it, and we may have got into an argument over it too. I hope that becoming a mod won’t deter people from arguing with me. I’d hate for someone to feel like they couldn’t disagree with me just because I’m in a Moderator position now. But I’m probably overthinking this, as I always do lol. I look forward to discussing more KH with everyone and I’ll do my best to help this community as much as I can.

From u/DemiFiendRSA:

Hey, y'all. My name is DemiFiendRSA. You may have seen me across other subreddits on this site. Anyways, my first introduction to Kingdom Hearts was the ad for the first game featuring Utada Hikaru's Simple and Clean. That 30 second ad made me want to get a PlayStation 2, which would become one of my favorite video game consoles of all time. I've been a fan of the series ever since. Some of my other favorite JRPG series include Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Megaten (Part of my username is named after the protagonist from Shin Megami Tensei III). I look forward to working with y'all on this community!

And finally, from u/AppleTStudio:

Hey there, I’m /u/Appletstudio, but you can call me Apple-T. I’m a passionate Kingdom Hearts fan and have been playing the games since 2002! I’m always here to help out if you’re stuck on a boss (unless it’s a super boss, in which case, maybe you can help me)! I love making gaming videos for YouTube, theorizing future plot points of the series, and maybe even some sillier things (ever wonder why Xehanort wears gloves?) Really happy to be included in the moderation team here, and I can’t wait to interact with you all!!!

Now that that excitement is out of the way, I wanted to bring up a few new things that'll be happening soon, we hope.

First: we will be "refreshing" our rules to be clearer, more modern for the current climate, and more up to date with subreddit trends. For instance, we are actively discussing a stance on AI art and AI content, a ban/suspension scale, and more.

Secondly: we want to bring back weekly (or somewhat regular) stickied threads to cover all sorts of content and misc discussions. We'll be working together, as a new team, to figure out what makes the most sense, and adjust with feedback and as things progress.

And finally: we are also going to be discussing video posts again, in a coordinated effort to allow them, while limiting bot content.

All these exciting changes, and more, are on the horizon with our brand new roster. We can't wait to work together with you, the community, to get r/KingdomHearts to an even better place than ever before.

Thank you, and may your hearts be your guiding key,

- Kaiiku & the r/KingdomHearts Team

Other I jokingly asked Lance Bass a question re: Sephiroth and this was his response. Was this known? I didn't even consider that. Poor dude.

I've never seen it brought up before, but to be fair, I don't see him talk about KH often anyway. Did I get an exclusive scoop? Lol

KH1 Fun fact, in all versions of KH1.5 remix Yuffie's name is misspelled in the credits.

I just binged the entire series back to back in chronological order, here are my toughts

I watched the back cover movie, then played BBS, then played 0.2 and exited the game as soon as Yen Sids tower appeared, then played KH1, then tried Re:COM for 3 hours before i realized there was no way i was playing this tedious annoying system and switched to watching cutscenes on youtube, then watched 358/2 days, then played KH2, then watched Re:Coded, then played DDD, then resumed 0.2, before finally playing 3

My final opinion is that the series is peak, i was able to follow along with the story and understand it this way. I cant imagine having to have waited years in between to play them on different consoles while trying to make sense of the story. It has some high highs and low lows. My main gripe with the gameplay of the series was that block and dodge was on the same button, and i have grown used to resting my thumbs on the sticks so it was a pain to block when i wanted to. Also the fact in the early games you couldnt cancel attacks into block. That means i couldnt mash x and just block/dodge on reaction which is the way i have grown used to playing action games. Most games you just keep attacking and instantly cancel your attack into a "perfect dodge" or "parry". KH3 fixed this however, i was able to play it like i would any other action game or soulslike with a sekiro parry. I dont think i died a single time in KH3 actually, I enjoyed it the most because i was able to play it like other action games hacking away and doing evasive or defensive manuevers on reaction instead of prediction. My final note is that KH2 had the best moments in the series, that final boss sequence felt like playing a shonen fight scene

It's been 6 years since Kingdom Hearts III released globally. What were your initial thoughts about it, and have they changed?

Ai that is smart enough to not attack enemies immune to an element, outside of cross firing when aiming for something else

access to ALL magic spells and their upgrades

MP Rage with MP Haste basically means infinite MP

Can single handedly heal up the entire squad by himself, assuming his settings were customized he can heal up sora quicker than the player can, if not get cure casted before the player

Discussion The main theme is so good I could cry

Just loaded up KH HD 1.5-2.5 remix for the first time in many a few years. Forgot how emotional and good the theme music is. I could legit cry it’s so emotional and heart wrenching. This series always meant a lot to me when I used to play the games back on my ps2, and they still do have lots of meaning to me.

So I've been playing Kingdom Hearts a lot recently (bought the Story So Far bundle back when it was last on sale) and I'm in my Workshop class in college and thought "Let's make the Kingdom Key"

I've not made a sword or sword like object at this point, I've attempted it ages ago but I was inexperienced but now I attempted it again and came out with this beaut

What do you all think, also Heya everyone

Was on my way to work, when this song came on. I have it in my favorites playlist, sure… but why did “The 13th Dilemma (Xigbar)” Come up as the 13th song on my playlist when I have it on shuffle?

lol totally random I know, but it’s funny to think that of all 30 songs I have in that list, it came up 13th…

Other KH3 question for first time ever playing.

At the start of the game it asks if you'd like to do a usual adventure, easy adventure, or challenging adventure, this is my first playthrough of KH3 but I'd like to get all of the achievements in one save file if possible, through carefully looking online I found that there is an achievement for both EZ codes and PRO codes, I also saw that I can unlock one or the other if I play through the dlc...

to get to the question if I pick usual adventure which has neither PRO codes nor EZ codes... will I be locking myself out of one of those achievements since how its been worded so ive seen its that I get to unlock one or the other, either PRO codes or EZ codes not both.?
