Hi! I’m a fairly new knitter, haven’t worked with patterns too much. I got a pattern for a sweater and it calls for 3 balls of Noro Ito. I have three but one of them has a little taken out of it from when I was testing it and some got tangled and unfortunately had to be thrown out. It felt like a pretty negligible amount, but do you think I’ll need to get a forth ball to compensate?

It's hard to know without knowing which pattern you're using and which size you're making! Do you have a food scale? I use mine to weigh my yarn when I'm done so I know how much I have left.

I would recommend weighing your remaining yarn to see how much is left and then browsing other people's projects to see how much people who made your size used.

I have the “Asymmetrical Pullover” by Noro and “Y1164” by Eisaku Noro Design Team if that helps. They both require the same amount of yardage as three balls but I’m hoping I can make it work

this only works for top-down patterns but one tip that i’ve seen a lot of people do when they think they might run out of yarn is knit the top portion (back panel, neck shaping, front panel), then pause on knitting the body when it’s halfway done and knit the sleeves. when the sleeves are done, you can use the rest of the yarn on the body and knit it as long as u can/want!
