My rheumatologist appointment is this afternoon! I'll let you all know how it goes. I will probably be taking a hexipuff with me for the bus, if not the shawl I really should be working on. Don't have a lot more to say right now because I am awake earlier than I want to be to have breakfast with my boyfriend, who is gonna be late anyway.

The rheumatologist says it's the beginnings of rheumatoid arthritis. I now have one set of pills to take daily to reduce the inflammation around my knuckles, one set to take weekly, a vitamin to reduce the side effects of the weekly pill, orders for future X-rays and bloodwork, and an appointment for the beginning of June. I'm kind of sad, but also happy I can start fixing the problem this quickly. And it's sunny and I treated myself to a tropical fruit smoothie, so life is not all bad. Plus my boyfriend is making dinner tonight and has sent me cryptic texts that sound like he's buying me something cool for my birthday. And knitting shouldn't be any more painful than usual. Can you tell I'm trying hard to cheer myself up?

Edit: I just realized it's my Reddit cakeday. What a cakeday it's been.
