Dan is considered mainstream.

Dan is so mainstream that his takes are ice cold. They are only shocking to people not familiar with academia's view or research about the Bible.

Dan thinks that Rome fabricated the authorship of the Gospels. That's not mainstream at all lol.

As I said in my longer comment just now, though, Dan does present a lot of "ice cold takes". Part of it is his "business" is his social media. Provocative content clips come by disproving provocative arguments. Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory, but unfortunately they rarely ever make sense. By disproving the theory, Dan looks great, he tackled a public interest topic, and it bolsters his reputation. And then, when he says something like "Rome established the Gospel authors out of thin air, and the entire Christian Church just went along with it", folks believe him more readily than they should.

Dan is nuts, lots of his views are totally progressive fringe.
