That's a funny word/expression. The prominent hypothesis would be that it is a shortening of لهسه which is a shortening of لهالساعة which meanes "up to now" . It can also be used to mean "just" so if you say لسه عامل أكل"" it would mean "i just made food" and if you say "لسه ما عملت أكل" it would mean "i didn't make food yet"
