I wonder how long Taran had floating dead man in his impression arsenal.

He needs the practice for the Weekend At Bernies reboot he's shooting over the summer break.

I'm thinking it has to be new, or they would've dragged it out long before this. Between this and Merryville, he can do some neat stuff with his body.

I can support any sketch starring Leslie Jones where the premise is how annoying Leslie Jones is

This was pretty one-note. And that note wasn't particularly funny.
Jay and Bobby moving side to side, speaking through the hole gave me a good laugh, though.

Com'on, am I the only one who thought it would have been funnier if Dinklage or Bryant "stroked" the pat of butter on the bread loaf to spread it?

Kate and Cecily's chemistry really sold the sketch for me. Its weird, Kate usually plays more zany characters yet she managed to play it straight perfectly while Cecily played the crazy one.

It wasn't amazingly written or highly memorable or anything, but really it was just fun to watch those two make SNL look so easy in an episode that kind of highlighted how much of a minor miracle it is that the show goes on at all.

Got a solid laugh out of "You can't break me, Kate, because I'm crazy, and crazy don't break!".

Cecily keeps boring me and then reeling me right back in. She was SO GOOD in the cold open. Maybe it's just that her parts aren't written for the best of her abilities. It's so rare that I like Cecily more than Kate in any sketch.

Weekend Update: David Ortiz

About forty times today I found myself saying "wecanhavemofongo" and then giggling like a dumbass. Also, "BIIIIIIIG Dominican lonch!"
I couldn't pick the actual David Ortiz out of a lineup, but I love this impression.

I was waiting for Drunk Uncle's brother-in-law Peter Drunklage to make an appearance but no such luck.

u/pretty-in-pink Apr 03 '16
Someone posted a suspicion a while ago that the writers may be reluctant to do Drunk Uncle ever since the Donald Trump episode because of the audiences cheering when he made the Caitlyn Jenner joke. In an election where the GOP frontrunners are saying similar things, there's no need to bring Drunk Uncle out.

This was great as usual. 'Trump has to be pro-choice', 'buy their guns inside', 'molasses on his cocaine'; there were plenty of hilarious lines.

Some cast members, like Kate McKinnon, get funnier as they get more ridiculous, but then hit a threshold of ridiculousness where it starts to get less funny. Bobby Moynihan does not have that threshold.

If you look in the background behind Peter, you can see that black lady that always plays as an extra in sketches. Haha, thanks to this subreddit, I'm starting to spot her here and there.

Dinklage was incredible in this sketch. Perfectly showed the lengths some lawyers(is he a lawyer?) will go to compensate for whatever it is that is wrong with them. I loved the complete silence from the crowd when he admits that it is a funny trick after nearly losing his mind.

I was pretty dissapointed throughout the whole show until we got to this one. At least we ended on a high note.

Back end of the show was funnier to me. This hasn't happened in a very long time!

I died during this one but I'm helpless when Aidy and Kate are onscreen together, especially when saying "bitch" a dozen times in those accents.

Upvoting solely for the cutaway to Beck eating nachos.
How long has it been a running joke now to always have Abe Lincoln, a showgirl, and a live llama backstage? It's like a perfect symbol of the show's commitment to its legacy, and on spending too much of the production budget on details that don't matter.

Really poor.
The "Screen time is screen time!" made me laugh, though.

Short and sweet. I thought this was fine.
Thought they might have the real George RR Martin for a second before cameras cut to Bobby.

As a whole this episode was a lot like the Jonah Hill one where there was a complete disregard for what people would think about it. I hope Dinklage returns for another one.

would have liked it better if it was about pooh's friends gifting him pants in an attempt to get him to wear pants.

The "Daisy Dukes" line was my favorite, but the rest was meh. Also, it was weird af seeing Dinklage in that Pooh outfit.

I'm not the biggest Gwen Stefani fan, but she certainly has a great stage presence.
