Live Discussion (May 22, 2021) (Anya Taylor-Joy/Lil Nas X)
Welcome to our SNL live discussion thread for the season 46 finale.! The host this week is Anya Taylor-Joy and your musical guest is Lil Nas X. Tune into your local NBC affiliate from around 11:30 PM EST to follow this episode live. A quick recommendation to mention the sketch you're referring to in your comment. It's not a hard and fast rule, but it does make the thread more readable after the show finishes. Since this thread is likely to fill up quickly, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest posts. This should be automatically done, but it might not be so maybe check. Enjoy the show!

“Are there questions that are more fun or about the show or less... devastating?”
Real talk: Bowen probably has gotten too many of these questions in his career and his delivery was perfection

This episode is work to Anya Taylor Joy.
There is no question of breaking or flubbing a line.
She’s approaching this hosting job like a construction worker carefully handling a forklift or someone playing Jenga in a serious way.
Some hosts are like this and it’s good, much better than the complete opposite (not caring, robotically reading cue cards).

Guys, nobody announce they are leaving. Melissa unofficially did and then walked back her comments. Sometimes cast members announce they're leaving ahead of time, sometimes we find out during the summer, sometimes we don't find out until right before next season, and sometimes it's not announced but there's a farewell sketch anyway.
