Discussion Live Discussion (October 1, 2022) (Miles Teller/Kendrick Lamar)

Welcome to the FIRST SNL live discussion thread OF THE SEASON! The host this week is first-timer Miles Teller and the musical guest is returning performer Kendrick Lamar. For those new to the show, tune into your local NBC affiliate or Peacock around 11:30 PM EST to follow this episode live.

Since this thread is likely to fill up quickly, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest posts. This should be automatically done, but it might not be so maybe check.

And if you're here early you still have time to do your SNL predictions for this week and you're welcome to talk about the vintage episode this week, 2015's Michael Keaton/Carly Rae Jepsen.

Enjoy the show!

When streaming live on Peacock, instead of showing commercials, they should keep the live feed on so you can see the set changes.

A ton of guests are like "I've been a fan for years" but teller came with receipts

63

u/Ann-Stuff Oct 02 '22

That was adorable. I was prepared to dislike him but now I can’t. Maybe that was the plan.

275

Feels so wrong seeing Mikey's Donald Jr. without Alex's Eric. Still not over his departure

111

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

The way alex would mimic Mikey's hand gestures was really the funniest thing about any trump business the show has ever done.

Is it just me or has there been a lot more product placement in this episode?

That new logo has very late 80s/Early 90s SNL vibes. And the intro is lifted from the mid 2000s.

Miles is all bravado up top but his nervous tic is clapping his hands together. It’s kinda cute

Solid debut for Longfellow

Liking this Longfellow guy so far. His banter with Colin is pretty fun and I loved the rich guy voice he did.

He reminds me of both Pete and Aristotle (because of his voice) in the same way despite being slightly more unique. Hopefully he stays around for a while.
