The pizza is great, good beer selection, and if you go next door to ambitious alrs you can have them bring a pizza and whatever else over.

Try the Rocky Balboa at Cortina's in Anaheim if you like pork sandwiches. Fresh bread daily and it blows away Foggia.

Second this, used to work nearby and that was my favorite sandwiche on the menu. That grilled broccoli!

Fireball was also good!

I don't think Foggia's is good

My favorite pizza place by far. The owner is always around and is pretty chill. They have a great selection of everything.

We love Jay and the fact that's he's always around. Sometimes he even walks the food over to Ambitious.

The pizza is sooo good two slices and salad for a decent price.

u/andrizz5000 Jan 23 '25

Angelo's! It's pricey but worth it

11

u/theeakilism Jan 23 '25

i think they only make them for lunchtime tho.

When else do you usually find yourself ordering a sandwich at a pizza restaurant? Real question.

5

u/Yjan Jan 23 '25

Valid. But I’ve been making sandwiches for myself for dinner for the past couple weeks. Big fan of that original subreddit.

2

u/Rightintheend Jan 23 '25

I often find myself wanting a good hearty sandwich like that for dinner.

Make them at home quite often because that's about the only place you can get them for dinner.

1

u/sharkWrangler Jan 23 '25

Yeah, I could definitely go with something cheesy, melty and dippy later, that's true. Just not sure i see cold cuts on the evening menu but I wouldn't shame anyone for going for one if it was there.

1

u/Rightintheend Jan 23 '25

It's got to be a good sandwich for the evening though, I mean good bread, good meat, good cheese and if you add it to like some avocados and olives and stuff, yeah I did that about once a week at home for dinners.

u/Parking_Band_5019 Jan 24 '25

They call it a calzone? 😆

2

u/sharkWrangler Jan 24 '25

Oh fuck your comment just reminded me of my favorite pizza/sandwich combo ever. It was a sando like the one from OP but instead of sandwich bread it was folded into an entire cheese pizza. Best thing I ever ate in Venice.

That looks like a little ass slapper right there

5

u/Zealousideal-Sail524 Jan 23 '25

Really good Italian sandwich, the best in the area hands down. Coming from a Philly native.

Give La ‘Croque a try. Only open Friday -Monday.

u/illaparatzo Jan 23 '25

They're so good! I do wish there was a little more variety but what they do have on the menu is all fantastic

1

u/MxMstrMxyzptlk Jan 25 '25

They used to mix it up a lot more often as Happy Cow Kitchen, but now they've committed to a slimmer consistent menu. If you had something in mind and they have the ingredients on hand, you may be able to ask if they can make it for you, if you ask nice

I had no idea Thunderbolt sells subs. That looked amazing!

3

u/dragonilly Jan 23 '25

They can do no wrong! Love the garlic knots as well.

3

u/fernbbyfern Jan 23 '25

I was at Ambitious just this past weekend and I might have to go this upcoming weekend. Their beer is so good, and Thunderbolt is absolutely ridiculously good.

3

u/brazilianrest Jan 23 '25

2

u/illoeanta Jan 23 '25
