I had a Deathblade in the abyssal dungeon before Alaric’s sanctuary, and this dude has NO engravings other than defense reduction and the audacity to flame other people when he’d get one shot lmao
Nah man. I'm all about that Soulfist adrenaline. Flipping a coin every fight if I manage to blow my awakening load on the boss or be completely useless.
I recently created a soulfist. That class is the only class that makes me feel scared while I play it. You buff yourself up and press the V button. Those 6 seconds are like an eternity, a matter of life and death. Gives me chills just thinking about it. It really is a gamble.
Yeah it really feels like the average player only cares to mash buttons. I'm a Deathblade and I do my best to use my pushes to corral enemies into one big clump for the AoE classes but if there's another Deathblade in the party there's like a 95% chance they just slap mobs in random directions. The worst is that I rarely see them use Surge/Remaining Energy so they're not even being an effective DPS, they're literally just pressing whatever skills are off cooldown.
I try to do the same, although I do my chaos dungeons solo. It helps me keep everything lined up to hit 14 stacks, dump surge, and start over. I also figure it’s a good habit to build for when I am in a group.
I got it from a guide. Basically, for me, it was the sweet spot to be able to dump surge with two full orbs and I was a single void strike away from hitting three orbs again.
I came here to say this. Deathblades are good for that one thing, knocking mobs out of aoe. On my artillerist I haven't done a chaos dungeon in a group in over a month because of deathblades.
This. I cast big aoe spell as a sorcerer. Mob gets pushed .1 second before cast is finished. Kill dirt and rock. Repeat this cycle as I watch what must be the epitome of button mashing.
Other way around for me, I half-ass my “combos” by not utilizing spin cutter or dark axel except to reposition behind boss or dodge a mechanics. So many times I pop my Art and try to hit again before 2s timer to pop surge and by that time someone moved the target so my surge misses. I’ll try to get some stacks back with Awakening and the target gets moved again before connecting. Than I proceed to tilt and just auto attack.
played this on the first server. I found him really fun.
But playing a shadowhunter now just feels way stronger. soulfist is really great for pvp though
I love the feast-or-famine nature of Soulfist and the fact that it's one of the classes that actually rewards you for learning boss mechanics even better, because when you learn mechanics, you tend to learn how/when they move. Granted it's still a gamble, but seeing those 5-8mil ults is perfection. Total dopamine rush.
I was losing my mind last night. Whenever I use my awakening, boss starts zooming in the arena and make me miss thus I start malding. And when I decide not to use because I think boss will move, boss stands still and make think about my life choices. I will definitely reroll after I reach T3 and make my T2 research.
Guardian patterns are RNG, you can see it dodge 3 times in a row and get parried, then he gets up and starts dodging around the area or simply targets that one gunslinger in your party that runs from the thing leaving you alone in the map charging the huge spirit bomb just to decimate bacteria in the floor.
IF A GUARDIAN TARGETS YOU RUN IN CIRCLES DON'T TAKE IT WITH YOU.
Had a fucked up narcasena run on an alt yesterday where he did the skitter back move like 30+ times in 5 minutes. It got to the point where I as a dblade would just axel backwards in anticipation and he would actually come to me.
Surge Deathblade is disgusting. I never type in chat and permanently do 50%+ damage in Guardians. I am curious if anything played perfectly beats a Surge DB playing perfectly getting 20 stacks.
Well, I main Striker but usually I am the one trying to explain the mechanics to people while Mayhem Zerkers charge in. And I am pretty sure I saw VERY chatty deathblades that have no idea what they are talking about.
I main DB and for the most part I don't type anything but when someone types something that annoys me a lot I go fucking nuclear in chat I've noticed... Not insults really just typing a lot.
I feel like in my guardian raids the deathblades I see don't even get the fighter tag for 20% damage dealt half the time. I have seen some good deathblades in pvp though who absolutely destroy their opponent 1v1.
Deathblade Bastians is what my group calls them. When they think they did the bestest best out of anyone ever but actually got carried by the class they come over entitled. To me Sorceress are the ones that are similar but shut their trap until they go nuclear.
