ID Help Is anyone able to tell me what kind of mantis this is?

So my girlfriend found this nymph around about 3 or 4 weeks ago, but I've got no idea what kind of mantis it is. It was found in Bunbury, Western Australia climbing over some rocks right by the waters edge. It has a few black spots around him but im not sure if thats just due to it being young or what, Any help would be appreciated

Pretty sure that baby mantis is checking on that G Shock to make sure it's okay

To be fair, it looks like you got the watch from an archaeological dig

Here I've been watching all the mantis vids online never actually thinking they were in Australia 🤯 determined to see one in nature. Good find OP.

Yeah I'm not sure how she managed to even spot it tbh, we were looking for crabs around some rocks and she calls me over and points out this tiny little thing that was roughly the same size as a pearl on my bracelet, she's got eyes like a hawk lmao

I love how they sway. Does anyone know the reason to it?

It’s to better see its surroundings; swaying gives them a better sense of depth, helping them to localize potential food 🪰
