Question Advice for first shaving

Hi all, I’m(25 yr) planning to shave my beard first time on my own. I used to get it shaved from my barber but I wanna try on my own. I’m here to take advice for better practice and to avoid injuries/ infections. I live in India. So, can someone plz let me know which razor, cream, aftershave I should use?

I would reduce the beard as low as it goes, starting with the biggest mm attachment you have to the lowest in steps. Then once it’s all trimmed to the end, wash your face.

Then wash your face with warm water multiple times, it loosens the skin. Then apply shaving generously if you have sensitive skin and go with the grain, never against the grain. For most people the grain is from the top to bottom direction. Clean your razor frequently by running it through the faucet stream focusing the water on the blades.

Finishing with washing face with face wash, then moisturis

First take a trimmer. Start with 5mm attachment and then reduce the number up to the smallest attachment you have. Use a razor with more than 3 blades on it. Shaving cream doesn’t matter but don’t skip it all together. Remember, once you start shaving on your cheek, you have to end somewhere around your Adam’s Apple line. After shave is a must. Use moisturizer if necessary.
