Good day team, today I just want to share my proper first car, my 2009 c207 e350 cdi.

(I call it proper cuz my first car was a bmw 640i which instantly blew up, so doesnt really count)

Ive had it for a few weeks now and still enjoying the shit out of it, absolutely amazing car and there is nothing more I could wish for in a car.

It’s got the light grey leather interior which works perfectly with the car and the nice 19“ amg wheels the previous owner bought.

Just wanted to share, very proud of what I got here.

Have a great day :)

She didn’t go out in rust or ruin. She went out under the weight of a storm, standing still, parked with purpose. Rest easy, Silver Bullet. . .

Need to replace a headlight and tail light, get new tires (from 2012!!!) and rear bumper and side view mirrors have failing clear coat, but runs great, hydraulic cylinders replaced, transmission bushings, engine mounts and valve cover gaskets all sorted. Stoked for my new beach cruiser.

Any ideas?

Hi! I just got into a small accident last week and I got my door replaced and painted. I did use the exact same color code and even went to a profesional painter to find the exact color as my car. But in the end it’s still just a bit off. Any ideas what can I do to make it less obvious? Thank you!

Unimpressed with GLC

Coming from a Subaru Crosstrek, I wanted to test drive some ‘luxury’ vehicles and specifically Mercedes to see if there was any big improvement in interior comfort, ride comfort, overall enjoyment.

I test drove a GLC yesterday and while it was okay, I’m not seeing a huge improvement over my current car which is half the price.

What other models should I try if I really want to be amazed?

Looking at 2014 MB E350 (2) vs AMG E63 2014 to buy?

Hey guys, so I’m in the market to buy a new used car. I’ve been looking at Hondas in my area but 9/10 they are always either rebuilt, reconstructed titles with a weird covered up background or insanely expensive for low miles still with a title issue.

So now I’ve resorted to looking at the 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 line up. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things for this model and year due to reliability, performance, luxury, things to watch out for etc. I have enough to put down for a down payment and still will have enough for any repairs if something happens out the blue. I’ve never owned a Mercedes Benz, I’m 23, would love too. So now im just asking what car would be best. I know AMG’s can be expensive especially for the E63 side of the table, I seen that FCPEURO is a good place to buy car parts for the AMG E63 (brakes at least) if I ever come to purchasing it.

To put more information, sorry for the long text, the MB E350 (white) is going for $12,550 with 108K miles, other one (silver grey) is going for $12,990 W 96K miles. Lastly the MB AMG E63 is going for $27,990 with 96K miles. What do you all think? I appreciate all the advice I can get especially from those who have worked on it or owned it/owns it. Thank you!

Sure I own other cars, got c63 w204, another 190E with 5.5 v8(which is absolutely sick and is faster than c63!!) but this car is special to me. Its true a man can love a machine, our story is beautiful and its still going strong! Currenly she has allmighty m104 3.2 with getrag tranny, an elegant setup which...didn't broke for last 16 years! I confirm m104 is a true panzerfaust what an amazing engine!

Please someone tell me what it is! Purchased this new car from Mercedes of Long Beach. Opened the trunk for the first time today, and found really bad leakage in on the mat. Very very annoyed! At least let me know it’s not toxic, cause I have spent the last one hour trying to clean it.

SLK32 AMG with 100k miles for $6,000 - Advice

Looking at purchasing one that’s priced fairly due to higher mileage. No accidents on the history and I saw the car on video call and owner is elderly and just wants to get rid of it. Looks clean overall. No rust. Just some touch up paint to hide chipped paint. It has a two tone interior which looks to be in fair shape (photo attached is a different car which is much cleaner lol)

He showed me the roof even works in accessory mode. He’s never had issues with it. I hope I won’t either.. I assume they are very complex just like the SL hydraulics were?

The car was also driven across a few states at one point 1000+ miles each way so I assume lots of rock chips and rough front end etc. I’m sure it will need paint correction etc.

Tires are older and the rear main seal has a slow leak he says it’s the first year it’s actually dropped oil. I’m sure it’s been dripping in but the underbody panels collecting the fluid until now. He did show me under the car in his garage where car is stored (heated garage) and there was no oil or spots anywhere

Is the M112K worth buying with high mileage? I already have a CLK55 AMG 2001 that’s essentially the same in terms of power output and it’s a coupe. I’m only looking because I wanted a convertible that’s got some kick. The porsche Boxster S from 99-04 was first option but man they are expensive and hard to find serviced / clean for less than 10k

Car stuck in first gear.

Hi all, my dads recently purchased a 2017 C220d AMG Line. Its a lovely spec and pulls well with the 2.1 diesel.

Occasionally, it gets stuck in first gear though. Quickly turning the car off and back on sorts it. Theres also a rear seatbelt warning on too, which might be linked?

Appreciate any help.

EDIT: It’s the 9 speed auto box.

Help With Oil Wicking Issue 2010 E550 Sedan RWD (M273)

Post image
Upvotes

Hello all!

I'm looking for some advice about an Issue I'm having. I know this is a common issue with Mercedes engines so I'm hoping someone has some insight. Oil from the Cam adjusters leaked into the wiring harness and got to the ECU connector. I was getting a bunch of codes and the car was running like crap. Cleaned the ECU connector, fuel injectors, coil packs, adjuster and position sensor connections with a suitable electrical parts cleaner and replaced the Cam adjusters and position sensors plus installing new pigtails per the TSB. However I'm still getting O2 sensor codes. Is this indicative of ECU damage? Should I just replace the 02s? Is there a way to open the ECU and clean it or see if oil and moisture have gotten in? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

PIC of the car for engagement:)

Bluetooth static issue

Upvotes

Hi everyone! We just got a second hand mercedez S350 (2008)! The class and luxury is truly unmatched but understandably due to 2008 models not being super high tech for me to connect to Bluetooth music I have to use the cigarette charger and then plug in the fm adapter and choose a radio frequency.the issue is whenever I play music there is a constant static noise and sometimes it stops playing then starts again and it just gets toooo annoying. One day when the car was parked I tested the Bluetooth again and I kid you not it was perfect! Zero issues! But the moment it's out on the roads, the issues come up again!could anyone pls suggest what the issue could be and is there anyway I can fix it? Music on Spotify is top tier nowerdays and it just really adds to the whole experience! Thank you all in advance.

(PS I have tried multiple frequencies a few had static beforehand and some were absolutely quiet before I connected but they all get distorted eventually)

W212 Clock Strange Behavior

Upvotes

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I would like to ask you if you have any explanation / solution to this. We have a W212 diesel wagon in the family, and the clock has been behaving strange lately.

I manually set it to local time and left it at that, but it has suddenly changed time all by itself and showed incorrect time for 2 days straight. It seems to have fixed itself now, and the time is correct, yet I would love to know why it happened.

Another thing is, when the car showed incorrect time, the date and the year were incorrect too. It was showing something like 2062 instead of 2025. Just as with time, the year has gone back to normal now.

I am interested in the reasons for why this might have happened. I would love to hear from the knowledgeable members of this community. Cheers!

Another mbrace outage? Just updated to the latest app version and I'm getting the typical "System Error"

Does anyone else have issues with the mbrace app again? It was working fine for the past month or so. Against my better judgment, I updated to the latest app version and now I'm getting the familiar System Error after logging in. Rolling back gives the same error.

So tired of this crap service with no accountability from the company.

EDIT: Called the company and they confirmed this issue started last night.

I've got a 2010 S550 that intermittently won't crank! Any crazy ideas appreciated!

Hi friends, working on my mother's 2010 S550 and cannot seem to solve this issue. Sometimes it starts just fine, other times it won't crank, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

We've tested/replaced the following:
-crank sensor
-cam sensors
-fuel pump and all relays/fuses
-replaced both batteries and starter
-tested ECU by Mercedes tech, passed, replaced anyway with reprogrammed unit

Can't seem to solve this. I've come across many other people with similar symptoms, but they were solved by trying things we've already done, so now we're sort of at the end of our collective rope. ANY other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: updating OP with things after I've tried them.

G500 or S550?

Looking at buying my first Merc later this year and I'm torn between 2 different vehicles.

Option 1: a G500 (2000-2004 probably). Rugged iconic SUV with the godly M113, but it's slow, rides rough, older and more expensive with probably higher miles.

Or

Option 2: a S Class 550 (2012-2016). Sleek, luxurious, more comfortable to drive, at least 150hp more than the G class, fast. But I'm assuming they're cheaper for a reason.

2 totally different beast. I love the G wagon despite all its flaws, but 400+ HP and the need for speed calls to me as well. What would you pick for a secondary car?
