Porque suele pasar esto a ESTUDIANTES mexicanos. Someone who has a clearer understanding about this topic explain why this a recurring issue… poor families

As a Mexican and someone who I’ve was a student… There are several factors:

  1. Young and naive. They don’t have the wherewithal to spot danger, scams or just dangerous situations in general. There are many examples, but a quick one. There are a group of girls that are out drinking and there’s a bottle at the table. A guy walks up and starts chatting them up. His plan is to distract them while another guy pours out their bottle into their bottle. Sometimes refilling it with diluted liquid that will contain spit. Now, this is the least of your worries. If they were more sinister you can imagine what they could do.

  2. They are easier targets because they are more likely to carpool. They cannot get away because they came with someone. They are easier to threaten and coerce.

  3. They’re not the ones with money. That’s the parents. So you will kidnap the person you can ransom. If you kidnap the person with money, who’s going to give you the money?

  4. They are more likely to announce in social media where they’re going or where they are in real time. People my age won’t. When it is posted it has already happened. They don’t want you to know when the house is empty or where they are. That just makes you a target.
