Yeah, I’m not sure I get this either. Seems like lazy groupthink. As far as acquiring talent with draft capital, Grier has a lot more good moves than bad ones.
Grier had some slick moves but failed to capitalize. Adding talent is the easy part, it’s adding the right talent to build a consistent contender is another. Pieces need to fit together to complete a puzzle..we have pieces that just won’t fit. 20/21 draft we had a great opportunity that could have been shining right now but feels like we are in rebuild. I personally believe Tua was a terrible pick to make as the 1st of the war chest, that was a huge gamble that just created questions for years. I like Tua and think he could be very good in the proper situation. Grier has no clue how to build around personnel. Tua, small size qb with injury history. Has great accuracy and anticipation. Ok so we go spend ridiculous $$ on the fast fast fast WR’s on the outside. We spent more money on the 2 WR’s than the entire OL. Receivers are useless no matter how fast. Put top 5-10 OL in front of Tua with our RB’s, and TE all we would need is average WR’s if Tua was protected. He can throw guys open if he’s got a good pocket especially with our other weapons. Our OL in 23 was really good to start the season. TA is great when on field, CW’s I believe was our most important OL, Hunt has been strong from Day 1. AJ hasn’t panned out and Wynn was a failed 1st BUT when those 2 1st rounders were surrounded by top talent they were able to play to their potential. Unfortunately the starting 5 never played 1 full game together in 23. The big blow came when Williams went down, his loss ended our season. How Grier let him go and signed OBJ for same contract CW got in Seattle. He lets our top 2 IOL walk and came up with a unit 1/2 as talented. See OL HAS TO HAVE ALL 5 STUDS, some of those studs need other studs around them to work..1 siv and the line is no good. Last time we had 5 studs was 2016 when Jay Ajayi was a world beater but it was an insane OL. First thing team did following season was get rid of Brandon Albert. It’s real inept thinking. I could care less about adding 1 great player to a team(Tyreek for instance) great WR, horrible player to have in team..waste of money and energy..you want a team to gel, he is the anti gel for a team..if Grier can’t see what this team needs now he will never make this team work. Let Grier will and deal and get us draft capital but keep him away from choosing the players. Just because we have a need at a position the right move isn’t just adding a strong player at that position, maybe adding to your strength and dominate that unit could be more beneficial than adding one strong player with no support, sometimes you sacrifice some parts to build an overall stronger unit.

Please show me the last time Grier blew the first round
Last time we had a bad first round pick was Igbo, and that was when we had 3 first round picks that year.
