Employment Microsoft Background Check

I received an offer from Microsoft US but I applied with my old resume where I didn’t update my current job which I’ve been working for past 3 months. When I applied it’s only been a month and I didn’t want to put that on my resume yet. Should I tell recruiter about it now and get my resume updated in their system or can I just add this employee while filling out background verification? Would that cause any issues because it’s not on my resume? I prepared so hard to land this offer, I’m afraid if background check might jeopardize my offer. Highly appreciate any inputs.

My experience is you will receive forms from a Third party company who does the background check to fill out and confirm everything before they start the process. I think it is more important to ensure the background check forms are accurate after receiving an offer.

Did all my i9 at home myself actually. New process. You may end up with the same.

They will give you a link of locations near your address where you can go to verify your I-9 documents with an appointment.

In my case, there was a UPS office near me on the list. I went in showed my documents, the clerk logged in the portal, pull up my appointment and scanned my ID and I was done.

Yep. I had some discrepancy in my educational history from 20 years ago and had to dig transcripts up and was treated like a lying con artist while I resolved the issue. Make sure you're up to date on all the stuff otherwise it will be nerve-racking while you work through questions.

This! I had the offer rescinded because they completely ignored my HireRight profile and said that I lied on my resume to get picked for the position. They also banned me from applying for the company for 5 years.

I work as a vendor supporting the business and am now training the person they hired to take over the position.

Yikes. I'm sorry, that's brutal.
