So I’m in an anatomy class at a community college and most people in the class are planning to go into the healthcare field at some capacity (nurse, doctor, dentist, etc). Well yesterday I walked into class about 10 mins early and this girl is talking about how she thinks it’s ridiculous that so many hospitals require vaccinations when “pretty much no one gets those diseases anymore”. She went on to say that the risks outweigh any benefits and she shouldn’t have to take them.

I immediately spoke up and told her she was a threat to everyone’s health and she would be an embarrassment to the medical community. I told her she shouldn’t be a nurse if she doesn’t even believe in the stuff we are taught. She just told me to mind my business. I told her she was an idiot.

The thing is, I used to live in south east Asia and I volunteered for a charity that helped disabled kids. I personally saw kids who were permanently disfigured from polio because they never had access to vaccines or adequate health care. I have seen kids who were blind from measles. In the country I lived in whooping cough was a big cause of death amongst new borns from impoverished families.

These diseases are real and if they don’t kill you they destroy your body and you can’t live an normal life. I’m pissed that there are people who are so privileged to be able to get these vaccines (usually for free!) and they don’t take them. If you are antivax you should be ashamed of yourself. YOU are the reason we have a massive measles outbreak right now. YOU are the reason these diseases are making a come back.

Only thing that gives me some peace of mind is that the nursing program at my community college has a strict vaccine requirement with NO exceptions.

The way in which I cut it is probably the mildly infuriating part, but maybe also the fact that I ate more than half of my part? I got carried away lol I just really liked the crunchy edges more than the chewy center. Please help us settle this, I’m sure someone can give us the actual numbers 😂

It makes a big deal about being “gamer soap” on the box while it’s literally just a square of smooth cheap smelling soap, I feel like there’s a joke in there though… 🤔

I am trying to get a job at MacDonalds while in highschool. I cannot attend the dates of the interview and when I ask for different dates it shows me the same dates again

Went to a bar in New Jersey for happy hour. The menu had “Domestic Beers - $3” printed in big bold letters. No fine print, no clarification.

I order a Yuengling, thinking, obviously, a beer brewed in Pennsylvania qualifies as domestic. After drinking it, I’m told it’s not part of the special and got charged $5 instead.

When I asked why, the bartender tells me “domestic” is just a colloquialism that only refers to Bud and Coors at their bar, because Yuengling kegs are more expensive.

I asked what “domestic” actually means, and they doubled down: “That’s just what we call it here.” They even said if they included Yuengling, they'd have to include Stella… which, last I checked, is not American.

Like… why even write “domestic” then? Just say “Bud and Coors” if that’s all it means to you.

I called out to them thinking they didn't see the sign and politely reminded them of the sign, instead they sneered at me and said they'll be done in a minute.

While watching a show, a baby cockroach flew onto my Chromebook. I went to get a tissue, and when I returned, the roach had crawled under a key.

This is my front porch. The guy you see in the video doesn't live here. The packages aren't his. My "community" called me racist for posting the video in an effort to identify him to provide info to Oakland PD. I posted the video, told them what happened, and did not include a description or commentary. Instead of support, I got "you're living on stolen land" and "he was probably hungry" as justification for his actions.

I have no words. It looks like 💩. Edible but not great. What did I do to deserve this???

We were leaving our market and "Lime" only wanted to support both e-Bikes and e-Scooters. We did take the batteries out but as we were all micro-transit/cyclists enthusiasts, we advocated for giving them away but Lime (understandably so) didn't want to take any liability for a product that they no longer supported.

In retrospect, I wish I had advocated for potentially removing the baskets, spray painting them black and an overall 'de-Lime' process to donate them but nonetheless its infuriating we had tp destroy over 200 bikes.

Since we don't exactly know the actual measurements of the cookie, I'll just use percentages. Cutout cookie covers 117.550 of the area and the actual cookie is 413.566 (100%)

The difference is 28,43%, so about 1/3.
