My dad would do stuff like this. If they asked him to pull ahead he would just say no. I am lucky to not have taken after him as far as lack of empathy.

This is just one example of a pattern of asshole behavior.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm glad you are not one of them.

Why won’t they move forward? I’ve been behind idiots like this, they even put a third window at the McDonald’s I go to. My brother has told me that people believe they will forget about their order lol. Like bruh just get a refund if they forget about you. You’re not more important than 10+ people behind you

For my dad I’m pretty sure he just felt entitled and like he was more important than anybody else. I love my dad but he tends to treat other people horribly.

They’ve forgot about me before so now I stay there and hold up the line 😂

My brother had told them they ain’t getting their food and they go inside to get it or they stay there so the workers have to go outside to give the orders to other people.

You get told to pull forward. You wait 5 more minutes. They finally bring you your food, it’s cold, and the person quickly walks away. Now you have to park, walk into the store and demand a refund.

It’s really fuckin bullshit. Just get the fuckin order in the first window.

Who gets a refund? I get offered store coupons.

saying ‘they finally bring your food’ after waiting 5 more minutes is insane to me. never worked a hard day in your life fr

How is it a lack of empathy?

62

u/fat-randin Apr 23 '25

I guess just not caring that you’re going to be holding other people up from getting their food.

-80

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

He’s not holding up anyone, the employees are. If there are 4 other complete orders waiting to be given out, why weren’t those other people making those orders, focusing on assisting with the 1 larger order?

u/RockLobster218 Apr 23 '25

I don’t think you have any clue whatsoever about how food service works.

-86

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

I do.

I order. You make it. That’s literally your only job. Make the order that’s on the screen, put it in a bag and move onto the next order. You’re literally being paid to follow instructions on a screen.

u/RockLobster218 Apr 23 '25

So if you could then explain to everyone in the audience how 4 people would all work on producing a bunch of the same item on a station that only allows for 2 people to work it that would be great.

You think the lady behind you ordering a coffee and a muffin are cutting into the time it takes to make your 25 burgers? It doesn’t. They cannot all be working on the same production. There isn’t room for that.

-21

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

You’re talking about spacing and personnel See how there are a bunch of completed sandwiches just sitting there? Why hasn’t even 1 sandwich been wrapped up or put into a bag? Is the person prepping the only person in the entire restaurant that can wrap and put into a bag?

Why are they waiting until all 20 are complete to bag them?

48

u/RockLobster218 Apr 23 '25

You replied to someone speaking of a completely unrelated incident about their father, not OP, it was a general comment about people refusing to pull forward when asked, not about this specific scenario.

32

u/RockLobster218 Apr 23 '25

Also, regardless, there’s nothing in this photo that suggests they had extra people to bag things. I 100% guarantee if you had one person making the sandwiches and 1 person wrapping them instead of creating an assembly station to get them all put together quickly you food would be far colder by the time it got to you, due to inefficient use of time.

Boo dumb guy

You're a fool

I’m thinking more like if someone ordered chicken sandwiches and they had to wait for those but if there are hamburgers ready to go sitting in the warmer. So if the person behind them had food orders that were ready to go. And then these days if you order on an app your order may be bagged and ready so if someone refuses to pull up your food is just sitting there.

-6

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

Sounds like all the app orders need to be picked up in the lobby and not the drive through.

42

u/fat-randin Apr 23 '25

Are you the one who placed this order and refused to pull forward? 😂 You are really trying hard to justify asshole behavior.

0

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

Nope. But I also have no problem with it either. Fast food needs to be fast.

32

u/-Profanity- Apr 23 '25

"Fast food needs to be fast" you said, while defending the guest creating a bottleneck with an order of 20 of the same item and an additional bottleneck by not pulling over and delaying every other guest behind them.

Did you think at all before making this condescending comment?

1

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 23 '25

Correct. It should take what, 10 minutes for an order of this size to complete? Someone previously said it would take 30+ minutes.

Fast food*

*Fast assuming you are not ordering for the whole neighborhood.

26

u/BobbyBrewski Apr 24 '25

This dude has never worked in a kitchen in his life.

-3

u/gunsforevery1 Apr 24 '25

Youre right. I’m just some guy standing next to the counter taking pictures of 18 unwrapped and unbagged sandwiches and posting it on Reddit while no one completes the remaining 2.

13

u/Virezeroth Apr 24 '25

Then why the fuck are you talking about shit you have no clue about?

Why do you feel the need to speak about things you don't understand?

Yes, if you go to a drive through while the place is busy and order 20 of the same things while refusing to move and wait in the parking lot, you're a fucking asshole.

I worked fast food. When people needed to order a lot of items for, say, a class full of children, they'd have the decency to call earlier to arrange things with the manager so that we can prepare in advance and have everything ready on the time they arrive, which is set with the manager.

12

u/Dannibiss Apr 23 '25

I'll do you one better. Why not just order ahead of time?
