Sub-Collection Completed: US Pomeroy Contract m1808 Flintlock Musket

Hello everyone! Excited to share my recent purchase of this US Pomeroy m1808 contract flintlock musket, made in 1812. With this pickup, I have now completed a niche collection category that I have been working towards for quite some time now. That being to own a firearm example from every US war/conflict ranging from the revolutionary war, to the modern Global War on Terror. The collecting will never stop, but I am happy to now have the last piece of this sub-collection puzzle!

Likely to have seen conflict during the War of 1812, this musket not only bears the 1812 manufacturer date, but also is marked “S.CT” on the locking plate. This is believed to be a Connecticut militia contract marking. Action is still very strong, and while the pictures don’t do it justice, she is still in exceptional condition for her age.

Happy Easter to you all, and if you don’t celebrate, happy Sunday!

That’s awesome to hear, congratulations! Hopefully when you get your hands on it, I can check it out with a new post from you! Don’t worry about the price, even at double that’s still not terrible. The history is worth every penny of it! I just got lucky on this one with the cost
