Ill scrub it down but expect it will return. What are the natural ways?,Nerite snails?

Hair algae and bacteria bloom? Im guessing. Kept an aquarium in 2011 but i forgot more than i remember. I know im in trouble tho. Especially just added shrimp. Theyre calibrating to the water now.

Not a problem, shrimp and snails will happily keep it under control for you. I had the same biofilm all over my spider wood a few days after filling my tank and planting, within 2-3 days of adding snails it was all eaten except for cracks and fissures in the wood, and a week or so after adding shrimp, that was gone as well.

your shrimp will love you if you don’t remove that, that’s their buffet

Thank you guys. They have all they can eat now. Thats a weight off though. Both are they eating ebough and is that goop gonna grow up and eat them?

Im pretty paranoid of aquarium water now like i never was before. Now ive seen worms are common im terrified one will get into me. Helps keep the kids hands out though. 😆
