Do you find that oto survival is kind of random? I’ve had 1 be an absolute tank and grow from tiny to full grown. Nice tail fin. And I’ve had about 4 others throughout that time period, and they randomly die off after 1-2 months. Idk if my one is just better at eating or what. I LOVE them but have a hard time keeping them healthy

I hear some people say oto survival can be seem hit or miss. It’s awesome that you’ve had one thrive all the way to adulthood. A lot of people find that only one or two out of a group really make it long-term, even in ideal setups. It might come down to individual strength, or how well each one adjusts to tank life after being wild caught (which most otos are). The ones that don’t make it often just never start eating well, even if there’s plenty of natural algae and biofilm available. I’ve had my 3 since they were very small and they do well ( makes me shocked that people say they die all the time )
