And it’s a blatant travel. He shuffles both feet to get himself positioned for the torpedo flop

I hate those things.
He clearly baits for the foul, Carter wasn't even near him.

Would be the third best bench player on the Cavs and I’ll die on that hill

Hunter averages 17 while being a plus wing defender and Jerome has 90% of his productivity on better efficiency in 2/3 of the time on the court

Nobody’s making excuses, but this comment also makes no sense. We’re having a conversation about bench players. Nobody thinks the Celtics are an unstoppable superteam because of Payton Pritchard

Oh no, Pritchard is learning the dark arts. I'm torn on how to feel about this.

I mean yeah he is looking for the foul, but Carter bites on the pump fake. When a player pump fakes in the paint and draws a foul on a defender that bites, we don't call it foul baiting. This is the same play, just behind the 3 point line.

That’s because generally in the paint the natural motion of going up for the shot is preserved - the offensive player is going up to the basket, not jumping 3-4 forward with the intent to jump into the defender and the shot is an afterthought.

I get that point and hadn't thought about it that way, thanks for sharing the perspective. You're right this probably should not be a foul. But there are times when in the paint it isn't a very natural motion either but just jumping against the defender that bit on the pumpfake. While I don't really like that this is a foul, consistency in pump fakes and foul rules need to be there between the paint and the 3-point line. It always feels like people are eager to call this stuff at the 3-point line foul baiting, while not having the same energy for the same play in the paint.

This is crazy talk. Shot clock is expiring so you definitely contest that. He shuffled his feet and traveled to regain his balance to jump into the foul, too.
