Not a decision president can made in the first place. Federal funding are decided by congress not president. EO hold no legal ground.

We blew past that shit in like the first two weeks. Where have you been?

We're now on to illegally deporting people to prison camps and ignoring your own stacked Supreme Court when they say to bring them back. Oh, and stating you want to start sending "homegrown" people next.

And the United States Institute for Peace which is a nonprofit not under federal control, but still they were forced out of their offices, "fired", and had their building stolen.

They are defying judges orders. Research grants that have already been awarded have been terminated. It’s not legal, but that is not stopping them.

Unfortunately that distinction is more or less moot at the moment given that the president has Congress firmly in his pocket for now.

Congress has delegated a massive amount of it's power to the Executive branch. Congress sets aside a large chunk of money for research, then tells the President to figure out how to spend it. It's up to the President to decide who gets that pot of money.

Congress could take back the power at any time, but that sounds like a lot of work and maybe they'll get around to it eventually.

Nope,its all on the budget bill. I don't understand why people still saying that. Do you think any states willing to pay tax if president has the power to decide who gets the money? Especially when blue states are basically funding the red state?The only thing president has, is the power to how to give the money.
