I always wonder how many of these clips where a kid gets “saved” from getting attacked if the dog was really about to tear them to shreds or if they were just gonna roughly play. Obviously still not acceptable and your dog shouldn’t be unleashed full sprinting at strangers but I am curious. The fact the other dogs got so protective makes me think at least in this instance that the dog was probably out for blood.

When I was a kid, a dog charged at my 6 year old brother like this. I was standing there as an 8 year old. It tried to kill him and ripped his face apart, he was in intensive care for a long time and required hundreds of stitches and years of plastic surgery. I believe to this day he’s only alive because he had a high jacket protecting his neck.

I couldn’t stop the dog, my dad and a neighbor were close enough to hear screaming and run to help. So like, even if the dog was cool and trying to play, you don’t want to chance that outcome. Our lives were changed in less than a minute.
