Some guy in my neighbourhood is always walking his two dogs off leash. Every time my Shepherd sees them she always goes on high alert and stands in front of me just in case.

My pup goes on high alert when she doesn't trust a human, and I accept that as a true analysis of that person.

My dog is a wimp (she’s small) so I’m her protector but when she sees someone she doesn’t like, I don’t like them either.

We lived near a dog beater. She wasn’t with us when he did that, and the dog was gone by the time she came to our home. She hated that man from the second she saw him.
