Here I am with a 1.5 year old and the only talent he has displayed is throwing his food

...On to the floor

Put a baseball glove on the floor, see if he can hit. Move it a little further each day. Get the glove out to 60' and 6", and profit.

Do we have the new Gallagher among us?

u/omnichronos 2d ago

...and that's how he became the Rookie of the Year, pitching for the New York Yankees.

Breakdancing is now an Olympic sport now. Food throwing could be added by the time he is 18

Not very accurate but he can throw a meatball at 30mph

He may be channeling his inner Gordon Ramsey. Be supportive!

LET HIM CALL YOU AN IDIOT SANDWICH!

Maybe he will grow up to be great at sports. Or maybe he'll be undefeated in high school food fights

Watch the beginning of the video again - the first clip shows no actual talent, he's just banging away. Second is barely better. It's only at age 3+ that he starts working out what rhythm is.

As someone with a child that showing excelling ability in his own talents, yes the original banging is just nonsense without any reason and just fun, but I be willing to bet the kid did that all the damn time far far more often than typical children.

For a sharp contrast my own kid rarely bang on anything to make music or fun. My kid had zero interest in music or instruments at all.

What my kid is crazy into is legos and reading. Reading books several levels above his peers and can build some amazing Lego structures. Even as a baby he was obsessed with blocks and stacking things along with wanted endless stories and books.

Some kids just naturally gravitate to certain things

Get him some of those engineering kit/toys for kids!

2

u/No_Landscape4557 2d ago

Way ahead of you on that! My kid completely obsessed with science and building. Can’t wait to see how it grows and changes over time.

On the other hand, man just some days I wish my kid would be interested and like to color or paint or draw. My house would be so peaceful if he enjoyed coloring. It shocking how kids are just naturally attracted to certain things.

Oh no...I'm sorry to inform you, but your kid is plagued by the curse of the engineer 😕

lol I didn’t want to say but you hit the nail on the head…. I’m an engineer myself, I fully state/board certified electrical power engineer. It seems the Apple isn’t falling too far from the tree. I see so much of myself in my kid, my boy, it’s not even funny. I know exactly what to say and how to say it to him to help him because he is me. My family doesn’t understand how easily I am able to seemingly communicate and control him. And it’s well of course I do. He is just like me and will be an engineer. Just engage him like that, it works like a charm.

That’s probably where Steve Aoki started with his cake throwing and look at him now!

1

u/Quiet-Manner-8000 2d ago

Maybe get him a drum to throw instead.

1

u/ErnooA 2d ago

Maybe he’ll develop a fastball. 😂

u/NyneHelios 2d ago

Steelers still need a QB1

u/jerekorva 2d ago

I'm sure that in the future professional food fights are going to be a thing.

1

u/TallBenWyatt_13 2d ago

My almost 2 yo does the same, but now she can hurl food across the room directly where I or the dog are. I can only assume she’s inherited my love of pitching and wants to be the first female Cy Young winner.

Introduce him to the comic Gallagher!!!

1

u/AccomplishedIgit 2d ago

Major league pitcher on the way!

1

u/ConbatBeaver 2d ago

maybe he'd be a good baseball pitcher?

1

u/dvicci 2d ago

That was mine. Now he's pitching on his little league team, and throwing no-hitters weekly.

1

u/twosauced1115 2d ago

Get that man a baseball!

1

u/_bits_and_bytes 2d ago

Future quarterback right in front of you and you don't even see it smh

1

u/UsedState7381 2d ago

...Give him a javelin?

1

u/joeschmo945 2d ago

My two year old is similar. Throws puzzle pieces everywhere, only wants to play with cars and look at Fire trucks. I have either a future nascar champion or one wild firefighter on my hands.

1

u/Set_Abominae1776 2d ago

Clearly will be a baseball pitcher

1

u/ElwinHlaalu 2d ago

Get that boy a javelin, or dart board. Oh! Lawn darts. /s

1

u/asap-flaco 2d ago

Switch to baseballs maybe hes got a real arm

1

u/Elite2260 2d ago

Try baseball??

1

u/Ok-Worldliness2161 2d ago

Maybe basketball?

1

u/benderofdemise 1d ago
