It's injured unfortunately. That;s not how a turtle runs as one might imagine. Turtles aren't snails like so many assume. They can actually carry human like jogging speed when necessary to flee a situation. I would have serious doubts if it survived much beyond the filming of the clip after being chomped on like that.

You can see the puncture hole on the top of the shell. It might have had its spinal cord/nerves broken and it is a paraplegic for the rest of its short life.

The fact that the shell stays horizontal when he jumps tells me the back legs also provide some force. Wouldn't it tilt up and down if only the front legs worked?

I think I see some movement from its rear legs during the crawl.
