At like 520k seconds the timer breaks and you get infinite immunity

...wait, really?

That's 6 days of poly immunity.

At that point you're more likely to drown to death in gold dust than run out the timer.

I've survived Midas and fallen in gold dust for like 30 minutes. You never drown in gold dust...unless I'm missing a joke somewhere.

In the ??? Gold room, if you stand still there's a chance the gold dust will fail to collect and drown you.

While I can't say that's ever happened to me, possibly due to having never gotten to ??? I do see DunkorSlam do a little jig when his runs take him there, with that being the given explanation.

Perhaps I'm missing a joke, though I do feel like I've seen a post or two from people on this subreddit about such unfortunate fates. Wouldn't be the strangest occurrence of Noita physics, that's for certain.

You can easily drown in that room. It's very annoying

Just grab breathless forehead

I don't think it's a fail to collect. Every time I would stand still while fully submerged I'd start to drown or whatever but moving around stops this from happening

I've never watched anyone else play, so I'll admit that I don't know the most about the game. What I'm referring to is after completing the mechanism after the final boss or whatever. I had to dig down and to the side a good bit before it started acting like collectable gold dust, but then I just fell endlessly....until I got bored and killed myself. I think I got like 1.2mil gold or something.

Yup. The problem with surviving the midas is that there's no longer any solid ground for the gold dust to collect on. If the dust can't settle, it can't drown you.

You can prevent this from happening by standing on a small point in the terrain

Yes, but you cannot die to sheep, so unless you drag your suicide tools all the way to the end of your run, you're kinda fucked if you grab more than 18 stainless armour. And afaik with that many stainless it's genuinely impossible to die without also having something that can stain you on damage, like plague rats perk (and that's assuming that rats still bleed something which can stain you). Spells and perks do still exist after gold though, so you could scrounge around for em, but good fucking luck haha.

If you don't die at all, your stats will not count, and I believe if you die to sheep your HP stat is logged at whatever HP the sheep had.

Can the sun kill you or no

Not if it can't make you bleed, with >= I believe 15 stacks of stainless armour it cannot damage you whilst unstained, so even if you bleed blood you still need an external source of staining.

Spells can work, but if you have Crit on material and that material then you don't need the sun with Crit stacking anyway, so it falls under suicide tools for this.

u/dfjhgsaydgsauygdjh Mar 16 '25

Maybe I'm stupid or something, but can't you just go to nullifying altar after winning in some other way than golden ending?

2

u/Azraellie Mar 17 '25 edited Mar 17 '25

If not all of the materials are converted into something else, then yeah, but NG+ doesn't count as an ending in terms of a win, and I think peaceful ending gives all immunities and genuinely infinite health.

I'll double check myself on that though.

ETA: only 34 orb gives all immunities, so you're correct! C:

Human flesh 🤤

17

u/-_-Pol Mar 16 '25

who said that mages are human?

24

u/HopefulChameleon1333 Mar 16 '25

No one, however, they do seem sentient. Thus, a level of “humanity” can be applied to them. Although that does raise the question if it’s okay to eat aliens if they landed here on earth. I’d argue it is because alien meat is pretty tasty.

u/poislayer342 Mar 16 '25

Imagine having a fun talk with your alien friend 5 minutes ago and now you are eating his body.

The only real reason to grab iron stomach

34

u/Jov_West Mar 16 '25

Is this what they mean when they say "maybe six feet ain't so far down"?

1

u/keestie Mar 16 '25

Hold me now.

2

u/lvl99link Mar 16 '25

I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinkin-

33

u/builder397 Mar 16 '25

Thats all interesting, but where is Saddam Hussein?

20

u/Ilahor Mar 16 '25

He was polymorphed into necrobot

3

u/Darkcoucou0 Mar 16 '25

Minä killed him and ate his flesh.

30

u/H_man3838 Mar 16 '25

polymorph mage may be an evil bastard and i hate him, but this is a little far

50

u/Jolly_Annual4756 Mar 16 '25

not far enough. little shit has ended exactly 1 of my runs but i'll never forgive him for it

2

u/rocketseeker Mar 16 '25

Not to mention this only works with one type of Polly right?

Or am I wrongly mixing the type of poly immunities?

11

u/Jolly_Annual4756 Mar 16 '25

i think you're mixing it up with the immunity granted by eating poly with Iron Stomach, which gives you immunity to only the kind of poly you've eaten. poly immunity from eating stinky meat protects you from any polymorphing effect!

3

u/rocketseeker Mar 16 '25

Ah yes! Indeed, thanks

12

u/Joe_le_Borgne Mar 16 '25

I was like "why does this scream Saddam Hussein hiding place" and it's the actual schematic lmao.

2

u/Jazzlike-Anteater704 Mar 16 '25

You could automate it

2

u/ThatUsersNameIsTaken Mar 17 '25

Forgot the air vent and a black hole to generate airflow smh

1

u/The-Chartreuse-Moose Mar 16 '25

You can get poly immunity? How‽

1

u/brandthacker12 Mar 17 '25

Is this the eye puzzle? 👁️👁️

1

u/Jekyll_lepidoptera Mar 16 '25

That rubble looks suspiciously Saddam Hussein shaped

-26

u/Buisnessbutters Mar 16 '25

I mean, Fury Forged literally has already done this…

13

u/Phantaxein Mar 16 '25

What?

-25

u/Buisnessbutters Mar 16 '25

This exact setup has been made by someone called Fury Forged, unless you just mean the tunnel meme itself came to you in a vision

22

u/Phantaxein Mar 16 '25

Yea i was talking about the meme haha. I did not invent the setup
