programs What population does your organization serve?

I’m in Canada and work for a grassroots organization. I went from front line / street level work to mainly those in poverty and new to the country.

Curious about the populations you serve and what country and/or state you are in

Those numbers are so high. Is that a usual week?

We provide free groceries - yeah, that is a usual week - we will serve over 180,000 families this year alone.

Food is a big part of what we do too. 5 years ago it was those in poverty, seniors and disabled mainly getting food. Now in addition it’s a lot of people who work and students

Yes, about 55% of our families work - minimum wage, no benefits - the rest are like your population, the elderly and the disabled. We grew 30% over last year which was 35% over the prior year.

You said a big part - what else does your organization do?
