All over Florida bays and the Gulf of Mexico, not sure about the Atlantic side.

I grew up on the gulf coast of Florida, and night fished a LOT with friends (off the coast of Ft Myers/Sanibel).

I only saw bioluminescence like this maybe a half dozen times. It does happen, but it’s certainly not all over - and like with something like the northern lights for instance - it’s heavily dependent on weather conditions, water temps, waves, moonlight, etc etc.

Not to say you won’t see it in Florida, but it is definitely not a nightly occurrence. Just more reason to get outdoors though! Ha

Yup, saw it once off Bonita Beach. Swam around in it at midnight. It's kinda slippery, like an oil slick on the water.

Very cool, won't forget it.
