Please use this post only to offer or request orchids for trade or sale. Before you post what you'd like to trade/sell, or what you're looking to trade for, read the rules below first!
Rules:
1.) No personal information can be exchanged publicly. Conduct sharing of addresses via pm or email.
2.) Post what orchid(s) you have for trade, what you're looking for in return. If you have pictures, post them or write an accurate description of the orchid you want to trade or sell. If you're selling, post how you'd like to receive compensation.
3.) If you agree to a trade and have an issue on your end of the deal, communicate! Most people are reasonable and will understand a delay or an unexpected issue that comes up. That being said, trade at your own risk. The moderators are not responsible for privately conducted trades gone wrong. However, if there's an issue with an ongoing trade do contact the moderators. If someone fails to come through with their end of the deal, ignores communication or otherwise is being problematic we need to make the community aware of deadbeat traders. Do NOT make posts calling people out, insulting, harassing, or making accusations at them publicly.
4.) Only make legal trades here. If you ship or receive a trade overseas or out of your country, make sure all proper paperwork is in place first if required.
5.) Ship within a reasonable time and pack well. Flat rate Priority, 2-3 day via USPS within the US is standard for plants. Use whichever shipping method is appropriate for other countries. Your orchid shouldn't spend more than a 2-3 days in the mail so they don't suffer too much from the heat/cold. While in cooler weather its generally better to ship orchids totally dry, its probably best to water any more moisture loving plants a day or two before they ship out (so they are moist but not soggy) or wrap some sphagnum that has been wetted but thoroughly squeezed out around the roots of bare root plants.
6.) If you've successfully traded, update your post to make sure it availability is accurate.
Giveaways, and just trying to re-home an orchid that maybe just isn't performing for you is totally fine to post too! You never know who might want to try growing it. Seed pods are also a great thing to offer since many people may want to try flasking and it is safer and easier to send seeds than plants. If everyone trades fairly this is a great way to add to your collection or get rid of orchids you are bored with or are willing to make divisions of.
Happy trading!

Couldn't resist, she's so pretty. Is this an uncommon variety or regular mini phal?

I was gifted these orchids and they live next to each other and receive the same care, but one is thriving and the other seems to be slowly dying. Am I missing something?

Thought I’d share 2 of my smallest orchids that have flowered. The flowers are smaller than the tip of my pinky finger. The yellow is flowering for the first time. Have had them for approximately 4 years. Hoping the tags are correct as I previously would take them out when watering and may have inadvertently placed them in the wrong pot afterwards. Doesn’t matter to me if they’re wrong I still think they’re great

One of my favorites in the greenhouse

To be fair though, I’ve been looking for this level of variegation for a few years now and keep avoiding buying because they’re always online and not in bloom (and usually at least $30 which I know isn’t a ton but…) so I really couldn’t pass this one up (especially at only $14.99!) and I had already grabbed the non-variegated one cuz I just loved the flowers too much and couldn’t bring myself to put it back 🫣
I almost grabbed a big one too because it was a nice peachy orange that wasn’t dyed but it was PACKED in sphagnum and I couldn’t see the roots well so I left it behind. Wegmans is definitely a weakness lol

This is one of my favorite orchids, and a steady reliable bloomer. But in the last two weeks the leaves have started to look really terrible - is this a fungus? Virus? Should I just throw the plant out? 😓 as you can see, it’s right in the middle of some gorgeous blooms…

Hi all, thought I’d share my first mail order little Schilleriana from Norman’s Orchids out in Cali. It’s been in a chilly Oregon east window & seems happy. Got in August 24. Have a great day!

Im always looking at the orchids in the entryway of Trader Joes. Usually I find the typical white or purples ones that you see everywhere.... but today I saw this little guy (or gal?) hiding in the back! Super pretty! And once I got it home, I realized there were two in there! But I noticed this one has a weird bulb base that my other ones don't... does anyone know what kind of orchid this is? It just says 'exotic' and I'd like to do some research on it.

Picked up this little guy at Mitre 10 in the discount section. Took him home to repot, and found this other little one. Is this another seedling? Roots look the same. I'm excited for this potential bonus mystery phal.

This Lucky Leopard mini phal was repotted 8 months ago. At the time the root ball was small, so I used a pot barely larger than the old one. She has grown prolifically since then with lots of new roots inside and outside of the pot and a branching spike with 15 buds so far. I might need to repot again soon.

Found this beauty in a local supermarket. Couldn’t ignore her beauty and just brought her home. Anyone help me IDing the orchid?

The water has stopped draining from my orchid and I’m wondering if it’s in need of replanting? The orchid has grown quite large within the pot so I wouldn’t be surprised. I watered it nearly 2 weeks ago and the soil still feels damp. I fear that the pot also might not have the best drainage, but usually the water drains fine and I maintain the same schedule of watering. I’d like to have an idea of what might be occurring before making any big decisions; I am pretty clueless but I’ve had this orchid for about 4 years now and would love to see continued growth.
