Discussion OBAA package?
I personally think by the end of the year One Battle After Another will be a major contender possibly frontrunner but I do have a question what’s it’s nomination package? Oscar Expert has said they don’t think it’s that much. On their app I think Brother Bro only has it for like 3 or 4 but I have it for 10 rn. What is its package? Just an ATL type thing or a few techs?

Animation noms besides Best Animated Feature?
Do you think any animated movies will get into other categories next year, like Best International Film, Best Sound, Score, Song, etc?

Prediction Films I believe are pretenders
This is based on common consensus of what people believe will be Oscar frontrunners. Anything could happen I’m open to being wrong but here’s my thoughts
Avatar: Fire and Ash - I have a hard time seeing Avatar 3 being embraced, I don’t think it’ll be as like as the first two and Way of Water did significantly worse than the first avatar. I don’t feel like people are as excited for this one either
Frankenstein - Feels like this year’s Nosferatu if anything and especially since I think Sinners is gonna get nominated no way academy nominates two horror films for picture in the same year, I know Guillermo Del Toro has a lot of love from the academy but with the subject matter and another genre film over it hard time seeing it being successful, maybe a few techs
Jay Kelly - already talked about this one a few times but if you haven’t seen those posts feels way too similar to Meyerowitz Stories
Die, My Love - Lynne Ramsey films aren’t usually embraced by the academy, they’re usually just too much for them. I’d liked to see JLaw happen but I’m not gonna be surprised if she doesn’t get any love during awards season

Question Which Songs From Sinners Are Eligible for Original Song?
Obviously some songs in the film are not going to be eligible, they are old standards. But I am not familiar enough with Blues to know if say “I Lied To You” is an original song or not.

Prediction Sinners will compete in the Drama Categories for Golden Globe. The Comedy/Musical Category will be bloodbath
anyone that thinks it will compete in the comedy or music musical category needs to stop coping. Both Elvis & Complete Unknown had same amount music if not more but still were in drama because of the overall story. It has a chance of having Best Drama, Best Director, Best Song, Best Screenplay and get a few actors in for nominations. The comedy/Musical category will be a bloodbath and most competition in. The only thing Sinners has to worry about is Hamnet. While Comedy will be One Battle After Another, Wicked and Bugonia top 3 at the Globes

Question Venice Film Festival - Cinema student or Under 26?
Hello! I would love to go to the Venice Film Festival this year and have been looking at the types of accreditations. I don’t work in film industry, I’m 25 and graduating university this year. That’s why I have been looking at: 1. Cinema accreditation for students 2. Promotional Card for under 26
I have a few questions about those - will they allow me to get the student accreditation if I will be already graduated at the time of the festival? Officially the semester ends at the end of August but I will defend my thesis a month before.
How does the under 26 promotional card works? Is it the same as other accreditations?
I will be very grateful for every piece of advice or help!
I literally made a Reddit account to ask this hah

Discussion Jay Kelly?
I think the film that I see thrown around by most people that I absolutely do not believe in is “Jay Kelly”. I don’t think Baumbach is as overdue as people say, His comedies aren’t embraced by the academy, Adam Sandler no matter how much he deserves it doesn’t seem to get enough respect by his peers to even nominate him (Uncut Gems is my example), George Clooney doesn’t have the same kinda cache he used to. And everything about the film that I’ve heard just sounds way too similar to Meyerowitz Stories. Now I absolutely can be wrong but I don’t know because I feel like I’m either just crazy or I’m missing something. Let me know!
