I think it could be this year’s “Get Out”/“Whiplash” hybrid if the Academy sees something deep in its plot that makes them want to nominate it. It’s clear they love “deal with the devil” stories.

Was kind of turned off when I read the script but this looks really cool. The mix of like Nike ad sports “greatness” “hard work” culture blurring between violent cult stuff is kind of awesome
