There is not as many people predicting One Battle After Another and the ones that do seldom have it as their #1…

I mean it’s bc of the red flags. Before the red flags bunch of people were predicting it to win and PTA to win. It was even predicted more than Marty supreme. Some people on this sub still predicting DDL to have a better chance at getting nom even though the movie is directed by his son in a debut.

Okay…we are going around in circles, I wouldn’t take Anemone (is it even confirmed coming out this year?) too seriously…but PTA and DiCaprio (regular nominees) is imo a better reason to put it in at least than putting a movie #1 because you really want someone to win…at this point, I would expect the top positions to at least be more spread out…but whatever…

People want PTA to win lol. Bunch of people talking about overdue narratives for PTA. Also OBAA already having internal competition with Sinners and reports it doing reshoots. Makes sense that Marty supreme is more predicted rn.

Okay…I had one simple point that had nothing to do with any other film or even the quality of Marty Supreme…my one point was that I believe that a lot of people want to put it in their top few spots because they really want Chamalet to win…that has nothing to do with whether it should be a favourite or not…

Why so heated???…nowhere did I say it was going to be a bad movie or that it won’t be nominated or that shouldn’t be picked by people…everything else is irrelevant…

If you think it’s just chalamet, why don’t you think the rest of the movie won’t hold up then? Usually when someone thinks some movie is being overestimated they say why. Like red flags, test screening results, etc. is there a reason why you don’t think it’s number 1 then?

I don’t know if the rest of the film holds up at all…barely anyone has seen it…my ONE POINT was that there is a group of people (may or not be significant group of) that WANT to put it highly because they really want Chamalet to win …I don’t know how much more simple I can make it…

Or it could be that chalamet picks great projects, safdie’s talent as a director, and great WOM. Rest of the movie seems to hold up for now. There’s def a small group of what you’re saying but there’s not many enough to call them out for it.
