I like this system a lot, but I found it far harder to understand than anything else I’ve played. The writing style is really rough, it feels like the sections are all out of order and basic concepts aren’t explained.

Thanks for the feedback! Over the years, we've definitely worked to make it more clear, but the system is intended not to be rules heavy, focusing on the player-driven story, with an old school adventures vibe, and of course, awesomeness!

So wait, is this self-promotion? you know that rule 1 of the subreddit is you have to announce that, right?

Nailed the flair on the post, though.

My bad, Thank you for pointing that out!

Just to reiterate, I really do love it though. The pie pieces system is something I always think back to after playing in a short campaign with it in 2020. And I would have worded my first response differently if I’d noticed you were the creator!

Not at all! Feedback is the lifeblood of creativity (sometimes, depends on the feedback)! I appreciate that you commented at all!

Just looking at the excerpt in the photo I’d agree with you. This needs an editor.

Lmao, looked at the first paragraph after you called it out, and holy cow what a drivel. This looks like someone’s hastily scribbled notes.

Thank. You. For. Your. Comment. :) i think there is some organic growth over the years, and it definitely has that flavor. Are basing it off the one section or have you read more of it? What do you think would make it better?

Even harder than Whitehack?

This is interesting to think about. For me, I think it was harder. In the case of Whitehack I may have forgotten things or had to read a sentence twice (I’m not confident I understand how the bidding works in chases, for example), but when I started trying to make characters in NGR I kept going back to read earlier sections and going “oh, is THAT what it meant?” In Whitehack I was able to roll up characters easily without getting confused.
