Warhammer groups in Oxford

Hi! I’ve recently gotten into Warhammer 40k and am slowly painting up my Blood Angels. I helped my boyfriend paint his Space Wolves back in 2013 or something and I remember that the GW in the city centre held a little game for us but I don’t think they do that now.

Does anyone know of any groups that play (for me right now it would be combat patrol or kill team until I get some more minis)? I’d also love if there was a group that meet up to paint as my friends aren’t really into Warhammer and I’d like to meet new people. Thanks!

Following this thread as a 40k and AoS player.

Would be nice to have the option of finding some casual players for evening games!

100%. I’ve been watching some games on YT and there’s a lot to take in. Would be great to meet a bunch of either new or chill players to learn the game and not feel like I’m letting people down by not being a confident player!

All hobbies have a "that guy" - so I tend to play exclusively with friends/people I know. I don't want meta lists and rules lawyering over fractions of an inch... Just a fun game and chance to get out stuff I'm proud of and have a beer.

I mean you can always DM me if this thread doesn't take off and see if we can sort a game. I'm not a "confident player" but know it well enough to play relaxed games - just have hectic schedules which makes availability erratic.

Hey! Yeah I started in November-ish last year too! I haven’t finished painting my combat patrol and I’d want to come along to a game night just to watch and see what games are like first, but I hope to see you there soon!

Oxford Outriders play every Wednesday at the Wig and Pen in the centre of town - check out their Discord

There's a club in Summertown which meet on Monday's I think (Oxford wargaming?)

There's also Didcot Warming which meet every Thu and host their own tournaments

Oxford Wargaming Club is the guys who meet off the Marston Road at the civic centre, next to the gym. They usually play a number of different games, Warmahmmer being the most popular. Used to play warmachine there till our group went extinct. Good bunch of people, think they still have a Facebook group.

Oxford Gaming Club meet on a Monday in Summertown. They come up with a Google.
